Dylan_Grant
i was just wondering how amplifier power affected box design? how dose more or less power affect size and such.
rckstar
From my very limited knwoledge, basically if you are running your subwoofer at or above its rated thermal limits, (rms) a smaller box is advisable as it would create a back pressure the would control the cone excursion better. A bigger box would require less power to get the sub moving as much. my motto: hit it, quit it, never admit it
raytard
basically-more power=smaller box to give it better mechanical control less power=larger box with larger port to increase effeciency (but keep in mind if power is ever upgraded, bottoming out/unloading can occur) small box with big port and tons of power is basically an spl box. small box for control, big port and power for output. have to be careful with it though, usually not musical or even safe for daily playing Build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...hl=avalon+build monster/rockford/kicker/stinger cables, pioneer source, jbl highs/amps, kinetik/shuriken batts, iraggi alt, dei security, dc subs(atleast for now) Team DC
