kmalinich Posted April 17, 2010 Report Share Posted April 17, 2010 wire the capacitor in parallel with your amp... as in the power wire from up front goes to the cap, and then wire goes from the cap to the amp. and the same with your ground. ground the cap to the frame, and then your amp to the cap. and to charge it, unhook your under hood fuse (you should have before and while you installed the cap) and wire a resistor or 12v light bulb in series (as in, where the fuse would normally go) and it will light up. when the light goes completely out (usually takes 1min - 3mins, depending on the farad rating) it is fully charged, and you can reinsert your under the hood fuse. edit: light bulb is much better in my opinion because you can see when it's done charging, with a resistor you hae to wait... but, in my opinion, i would sell the cap and get a 2nd battery, it will do 1000x times the job of a cap. serve you much better Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
