getting a new head unit, give me some opinions plz.

alright so right now i have an alpine 9886 that my dad let me use from our boat because my pioneer took a shit on me and now i want to get a new hu so i can give him his back. I just dont know what to get. I want to get a single din but i cant decide between a regular cd/mp3 player or a flip out dvd player. Ive been looking at getting the alpine cda-117, cda-9886, or cda-9887 or ive been looking at the alpine iva-d106 and the kenwood excelon kvt-696. im looking for some really good sound quality and nice features. I just dont like the fact that the alpines need that damn imprint kit to really tune them right. so if anyone has some thoughts on this can u send them my way.... and if it helps i have alpine type s comps and two 15" fi bl's
