TeejayBee Posted April 23, 2010 Report Share Posted April 23, 2010 Alright so beatbox sold me his old 180a alt since im running a stock one well i hooked it up today and at idle it only does 12 volts with headlights on. so i said WTF and put my stock alt on and it did 14 v with headlights on at idle so whats going on ? is the alt bad now from being shipped or what? because beatbox is a good man but i cant let this fly any suggestions Thanks -Teejaybee Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

keepinitloud Posted April 23, 2010 Report Share Posted April 23, 2010 make sure your belt is not slippin and it worked fine for the other guy who had it i'm sure he would say it seems to be a problem with high output alternators they have belt slippage issues unless you put a new belt with it oh does it have an underdrive pully?
