i could be wrong, but it appears that they smoked over the rev lighs and just gutted the walls blocking the red from the clear. I like the led idea as well. Either use a strip or buy some 3mm leds.

Thanks everyone, ECKO here gave me this link and I'm gonna go to this local junk yard where there's an Impala so I can get harnesses and the tail light cove if I can so I can experiment with that.

The sequential turn signal looks nice but that's not what I was looking for but I might go for later if this works out
