91sdime Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 I'm not sure how often this gets checked anymore, but I was wondering for a cheap quick setup I have two single 4 ohm 12's. My amps output is 100x2 at 4 ohms, 200x2 at 2 ohms and 400x1 at 4 ohm. Now I know I cant get the two single 4's back to four bridged but if I wire it to 8 ohms and have it to the bridged connection will the amp safely output 200x1 at 8 ohms? I mean it's only 100 watts more then straight wiring but it's cheaper subs that max at 500 so a little helps lol.
