Bejus
so, in a couple of days a friend of mine is going to get his new sub, an MTX RT12-04 (german homepage, cant find that sub on the us page). the sub will be fired by a bridget MB Quart DSC 450, so it'll get around 200W. we are thinking about 2.1ft³, with a 13"x1.2" port. first question is, if this could sound good, 2nd question is, how long the port should be?! WINisd told me something around 39". that sounds way to long to me... Greetz! TSDs of the sub: Fs : 28Hz Re : 3,2Ohm Z : 4Ohm Qms : 6,87 Qes : 0,58 Qts : 0,54 Vas : 68Liter Mms : 164gr Cms : 0,186mm/N BL : 12,8N/A Sd : 510cm2 Vd : 0,82Liter Xmax : 16,0mm Honda Civic EJ2 Stock Audio System! And it does(n't) kick ass!
Guest
thats 15.6" of port area. generally (aka 99% always) want a port area between 12-16, 14-16 is more ideal in my opinion. so for 2.1cuft you would need between 28 and 32sqin of port area. to find this out, just multiply the width and height of port (if square/rectangular) find Torres's (username torres) box building calc and follow the instructions. look at the port area range and port area numbers since everyone who designs a box with that always forgets about it. Bejus
so i guess a 13"x2.5" port is better for the size of the enclosure... but how many ft^3 / inch^3 do i need within the port?
