L7 15 Box build

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! After searching around for a bit, I haven't found much help on here for what i'm needing.

I just recently bought an L7 15" 2009/10 model brand new. 2000peak/1000rmw you guys know the deal.

Now, i'm looking to build a ported box, roughly tuned near 32-36hz and the gross volume of the box to be around 4.5cu feet. I need help with designing the box per Kicker's specs so that it will sound good. I made the mistake of buying a pre-fabbed box without checking the specs and now am $70 in the hole with a ported box that makes my sub sound like garbage.

I don't really need anything special. The box's height cannot be higher than 18" (to fit into the trunk) or wider than 38", other than that, have at it. (2004 Dodge Neon)

Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

Note: I have a MMATS1600.2 amp pushing this single 15"

yeah I've gotten to that point, i'll probably just cave and have a local shop go ahead and do it for me so that the tuning and dimensions are correct I don't want to have a crappy setup. The L7 15 is well broken in and i'm ready to turn the amp up a little bit and play some lows!
