rf p3 or alpine type-r

Recommended Posts

ok but is it the new type-r or the old ones you all are talking about???

because im referring to the new ones..

sry for not stating the type..

new type r s now take 600rms im referring to 12s lol 15s take 750wrms and they sound clean and loud at the same time i have one type r 12 on a soundstream rub1.800d and its getting double the power that it needs and shes taking it very well if your an abuser get a type r but if you want ur system to sound goood and not to loud go with a p3 also p3 12s take 400rms and 800peak i believe and the 15s take 500 rms so overall id get a type r :)

4 type r 10's on a audioque 3500d in a Cavy trunk

i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?

Go with the type rs.

you will like the way they sound. RF makes some nice amps But the type rs are better than the p3s imo. TYPE ARGHHHHHH!

Here's your sub, brand new $128.00 shipped.

Since it's a dual 4, wire it down to 2-ohms and run it with this amp. $145.00 shipped. It'll do your 500rms+ at 2-ohms. Hard to beat maxxasonics products on a budget. :)

I have type r 15's and I have been running over 1000 rms to each one (about 1200-1300 each) and they handle it fine, dont get smelly or anything, the type rs are underrated. I haven't had any experience with p3's though, I dont think you will be disappointed with a type R

No problem man. The newer ones seem to run around $170.00 new as the cheapest on the net. As far as amplifiers go... The mono block type of amplifiers would be much more efficient in driving your subwoofer. (ie. less amperage to create the 600watt current you want) Regardless in mono, 2-channel, or 4-channel etc, it all depends on the current being pulled. BUT, if you are on a budget and plan to add a battery and finally an amplifier that would actually push the subwoofer with some power, then I understand. :)

You could always run the mono and for now keep the gain turned down even lower than the proper setting so it doesn't kill your voltage, Invest on one of the cheap 15 dollar stinger voltmeters, easy way to keep an eye on your voltage and be aware if its dropping too low, then when you get money get your battery and set the gain properly.
