iceman1575 Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 I have a set of Kicker's in my car right now which sound fine, but I'm getting a job soon so I'm goign to be looking to get a nice install. Right now I have aftermarket (Pioneer) 6x9's & stock door speakers which are doing fine. I've been thinking about getting door panels made for the doors to fit some 6.5's in both doors, with tweeters in the front doors. This way I can pull the back 6x9's to add an inch or two of box space. Mids and highs aside (thats for later on) I've been looking for a replacement system that will still be loud, but clear. I was thinking about a single SMD 15 in a ported box, with two RF 1500.1bd's, one on each coil. Either that, or some Fi (or something similar) 12's, with one amp to each sub. I'm not aiming to be the best, just something that gets high SPL but still will sound loud and clear. What would you guys suggest that won't break the bank? I'm not aiming to get it all at once, no set budget, just get what I can as i go. POTATO!
EricR Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Fi Q 12" on 1500w will get fairly loud and sound damn good doing it. i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?

I've heard that...but when Steve built Chicken's towers, he said it was worth going to the BL's. What would I be looking at to go to either one or two BL 12's in terms of power, SPL, clarity, and box space? POTATO!
