MTX TE1501D & FI Q12

Hey Fellas! I have a few questions that I was hoping someone can shed some knowledge on. I had a Hifonics Zeus ZXi60.4+1k5. I hooked it up and was VERY DISAPPOINTED. The Hifonics amp did not putout anywhere near the "RATED CEA OUTPUT" If lighting were to strike it! The Sub was BARELY moving with the gain All THE WAY UP on the MONO Channel? I even hooked a DMM up to it to tune it with my 50hz test tones and could not get the amp to reach the gain I had calculated on the chart. The only way I could get the volts to 31.6 is I had to turn the gain up all the way AND add like 3/4 gain of the bass level on the amp. Really odd right? So I had to get another amp (THE MTX).So I sent that back now have the MTX TE1501D to power the SUB and MTX TE404 for the Highs and a FI Q12. Initially I wanted to wire the Sub at a 1ohm load. That is why I ordered the dual 2 ohm voice coil sub so I can wire it in parallel and the Hifonics could see a 1ohm mono load on the 5th channel. So now that I sent that amp back and getting the MTX TE1501D. I was wondering if I was to keep the same resistance load on the amp (1ohm), would it be over kill for a FI Q12 in a 1.5cu ft sealed box? Keep in mind that it is loaded including the cooling and that says on the website that it should be able to handle 200-500 more watts. The only option I did not get on the Q12 is the iheatsink. Also, If I wanted to wire it at a 2ohm load, on the output terminals of the amp it has 2+ and 2- (looks like this even though it's a mono amp( + - + -). If the 1ohm load is too much for the sub could I just run the + - of one voice coil to the left side and the + - of the 2nd voice coil to the right to yield a 2ohm load?
