It can't carry as much current as pure OFC copper wire can. Other than that, not much of a draw back. Generally, 1/0 CCA is good for 200-250amps of current up to 20 feet. I just ordered 30 feet of the new KCA cable late last week and looking forward to getting it.

Only drawback I personally know of is less current flow. Oxygen Free Copper can handle more current (350A or so) than CCA (300A). But it's also cheaper (CCA) and depending on the price you can get it, it MAY be cheaper to do 2 runs of CCA than 1 run of OFC. I'm sure more knowledgeable people will chime in though. :)

Edit-OK so maybe CCA isn't good for 300 lol (see post above)

So would a stinger hpm 1/0 power kit be better for say around 2000rms?

Its all about current draw. If you are running less than 20' and you amp max draw is less than 250 amps, CCA will work. But, if you are planning on adding other amps, or doing an amp that has an amp draw of near 250 amps, just go straight for the OFC. Im running 2 1200w RMS amps with a combined max amp draw of 225amps. So CCA was not an issue for me for the time being. Going to be quite a while before I will be able to do 4chan amps for the fronts.

Look at the fuses on the amp(s). If they add up to over 250A, go with OFC, less than 250A...I'd still go OFC, but CCA will be fine. If it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing. ;) as long as you can afford the extra. That way, if you decide to add a 4ch for your speakers, you'll still be covered without having to buy more wire and do another run. But if you never plan to add another amp, you really won't need to do OFC.

Sorry for the double post can figure out how to delete it :pardon:. So for my four channel the fuse ratings are 2x30 and my mono is 5x30 so that would put me under 250. Or am i wrong on how to figure that out? :noob:

Edit: i guess bassfiend confirmed that, Thank you! So i should be fine with cca power wire?
