Guest
you dont need a new alternator. i ran 2 amps (totaling about 1000rms) on a stock 70 amp alternator and the big 3. you do not need one. you will always get dimming even if the voltage drops a tenth of a volt. neutman21
Ok, I am doing about 1150 rms... and the big 3 probably wouldn't fix the problem would it?? dugee81
It definitely wouldn't hurt to do, and doesn't cost much to accomplish Quote 200a alt. by Excessive Amperage hc800 under hood & 2 Deka 9a31 in rear 1/0awg + big 3 SAZ 3000D HDC3 18" @ 2 ohm

Guest
do the big 3 in 1/0 copper wire. and your alternator is most likely like 100-120 amps so you do not need a larger one when mine was fine and it was only a 70.
neutman21
Ok, I thought mine was around 75 amps.... Quote THE BASS KICKS AND THE HEADS TURN. dugee81
I would say 4awg big 3 would suffice Edited August 5, 2010 by dugee81 Quote 200a alt. by Excessive Amperage hc800 under hood & 2 Deka 9a31 in rear 1/0awg + big 3 SAZ 3000D HDC3 18" @ 2 ohm
Guest
You I would say 4awg big 3 would suffice ...1/0 gauge. no point in having 4 gauge then upgrading later on. its only a few bucks more
