So I bought an Omega 15" and was going to run it on 2k and call it a day. Well the Omega will be here tomorrow but I wont be using it A guy posted this for sale at a CRAZY low price and he was local so I couldn't pass it up... DC Level 5 15" with D1 recone. This fucker is huge and heavy. Will be doing my first recone sometime the next few days. Quote i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work? When I lay the bead of CA glue on the spider landing do I do one on the top of the basket where the surround goes also or do you do them seperately? Loudcivic Posted August 21, 2010 Report Share Posted August 21, 2010 (edited) shim it out so its tight and no movement i used index cards(the big ones and had a total of 5 on each side). pick up on the cone so theres enough room to lay a bead of ca down under the spider. then you can put a bead around were the surround goes. then i used an upside down cup on the cone around the coil and put like 20-25 pounds on it and made sure it was sitting good. then i took the accelerator and you just lightly spray it ONLY around the spider. then i took clothes pins and put them around the surround. i didnt use accelerator on the surround and it turned out fine. i will be using maybe a lil accelerator on the dustcap but havent decided since mine was cracked that came with my recone. i did a bead of ca on the outside of the spider and spider landing and one on top of the spider so it tied all the glue in so its nice and strong. thats gonna be a beast of a sub post up some vids Edited August 21, 2010 by loudREcivic Quote 2015 silverado crew cab nothing atm but soon...
