Help for my first setup?

Hey I'm Jared,

So Im new to the forum and started getting into car audio about a year ago, just picking things up on the fly. Im looking at getting my first setup here fairly soon. Wanting to get subs/ amp/ and HU to start off and possibly components a little later on when I get the money.

Mainly listen to heavy metal and rock music with a lot of kick drum and double bass pedal...

I have a '05 neon with a stock HU and speakers at the moment.

Im not looking for it to be crazy loud, just want the subs to be able to pick up the kick drum cleanly and sound good.

Id like to get everything (subs, amp, wiring, HU) for around $500-600, but I can go higher if needed.

Any suggestions you guys have for what kind of subs? amp? or head unit I might look into? Also, what frequency would be the best for me to tune around (since I would be playing mostly metal music), and do you think a sealed or ported box would work best?
