New to forum, intro & 1 forum related question

Well I looked for a n00b forum for intro's, and maybe I'm blind, but I didn't see any. But, I may be new to the forum, but I used to run SPL comps, and will someday again.

What I used to run 2002-early 2004:

1990 VW Golf (2dr)

1 15" Orion HCCA

1 Power Acoustik 3000D

Top facing sub, rear facing slot port box tuned to ~40Hz (don't remember exactly)

Sony deck (can't remember the model & too lazy to go check, pretty much the top of the line in 2001 though)

Phoenix Gold highs on a Phoenix Gold 300.4 amp

My best number was a 150.1dB on the newer TL system @ a DB Drag 2003. Had regular 149's on both new & old mics. Regular music @ 145-146dB. Was the loudest competing single sub/single amp car in the area, beat many dual 12"s. Unfortunately, proof seems to have gone missing thanks to my ex purging all my records for me

Ended up blowing the 15" while driving one day, completely (and cleanly) seperated the cone from the spider and couldn't afford a powerful enough 15" so I ended up getting 2 12"s. They were slightly louder according to the meter, regular 151's on the old mic, but I was never happy with them. Didn't feel as good as the 15".

Ended up selling the subs/amp/box at the end of 2004 (2nd kid on the way and my ex is a b!tch). Learned a lot in those few years, always been a basshead.

I was using Phoenix Gold 300.4 as a sub amp, and it worked really well for 4 years until it finally gave up from abuse. So I bought a cheap Dual amp (300W rms), just to get by.

Right now, I have a '97 Civic 4dr coupe running same deck, same 2awg wiring (4th car they been in since initial purchase). A 300W Dual amp and I just picked up an old Cerwin Vega 124 in a 2.34cu.ft. ported box tuned to 40Hz (my first attempt at building my own car audio sub box). Just picked it up today, but sounds impressive so far.

I have plans to build another serious bass car sometime in the future just not sure when funds will allow it, for now the little system will do.

So there is my intro, hope to be a help and learn some stuff along the way.

One question though...

When viewing threads, there seems to be large gaps of grey blank page between most of the posts. Is it just me (using Internet Explorer)? Is there any way to fix it? Sort of bothersome scrolling forever just to see one post and then having to scroll again only to forget what the original post actually said - ok, that may be slightly exaggerated, but still.

Nice setup. Try using FireFox or Google Chrome for best results.
