UniqueSounds
If i get the AQ2200d would i need a 220 amp fuse or a 250 amp? because at 13.8V it does 2200RMS but at 16V it does 2500. So which would i get? i am currently running a stock electrical system. Thanks In Advance! Oh and when i do the big three. Do i need to run a fuse between the alt and the battery? 1997 Chevy Cheyenne Single Cab Pioneer DEH-3200UB Two sets of Orion 6.5" Components In Each Door AudioQue HDC3 15" ^^^ Its all For Sale!!!!! http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/99546-lots-to-sale-good-prices/ ^^^ AQ2200D Wow, such a flexy beast(see what i did there lol)
dugee81
a 200 amp fuse will suffice for your situation. and its recommended to fuse between the alt and the battery, but some will say its just added resistance. 200a alt. by Excessive Amperage hc800 under hood & 2 Deka 9a31 in rear 1/0awg + big 3 SAZ 3000D HDC3 18" @ 2 ohm
ryderonthestorm
250 will be fine. And yes you need to fuse between the alt and the battery. UniqueSounds
Really just a 200? because i thought it went by every hundred or something like that? 100 = 10 amp 200 = 20 amp 1000 = 100 amp 1500 = 150 amp and so on. But maybe im wrong? Thats why i asked because i wasn't sure if i was right? 1997 Chevy Cheyenne Single Cab Pioneer DEH-3200UB Two sets of Orion 6.5" Components In Each Door AudioQue HDC3 15" ^^^ Its all For Sale!!!!! http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/99546-lots-to-sale-good-prices/ ^^^ AQ2200D Wow, such a flexy beast(see what i did there lol)

But maybe im wrong? Thats why i asked because i wasn't sure if i was right? well thats a rough estimate. i am running a hifonics colossus which claims 2200 watts, and i am running a 200 amp fuse no problems. if you want a mathematical equation, you could use amps * volts * efficiency = output 200 * 13.8 = 2760 2760 * .8 (guessing on the efficiency because i am not sure) = 2208 watts RMS 250 will be fine. And yes you need to fuse between the alt and the battery. Closest to the battery as possible. Alright & if i put a fuse from alt to batt how big should it be? if youre using true 1/0, i would say 300. hell on your stock alt 200 will be fine as well. 200a alt. by Excessive Amperage hc800 under hood & 2 Deka 9a31 in rear 1/0awg + big 3 SAZ 3000D HDC3 18" @ 2 ohm
