Can I run my Amp at 2ohm on a 4ohm SUB?

Recommended Posts

don't mean to hijack the thread but quick question:

I have an oldschool mtx thunder 5000 8ohm 250w rms 10" sub.

Could I run it on an amp that is 4 ohms or 2 ohms?

i suck men dry...email me for details

Casemods - Yeah you can. You just can't run a sub with a lower impedence than the amp can handle. So you can't run a sub at 1 ohm into a 2 ohm stable amp.

Yeah dude. Don't go lower than 2 ohms. Besides, you'll start raising the THD so sound quality will be less for no reason
