The alt is the problem not the isolator fix the problem don't put a bandade on it.

I don't see the problem with an isolator given the fact he has two different types of batteries.

dropping the voltage really low on batteries that arent being charged by the alternator at the same time, then having the alternator all of a sudden charge a completely dead battery, isnt good for the alternator. i'd assume you would know this (not saying you dont). isolators are just trouble in my opinion. alternators dont like to charge dead batteries, especially over and over and over and over again. i would rather mix 2 different batteries together than run an isolator. thats just me.

edit: also im sure the amp doesnt like low voltage all the time.

Should i keep the stock and optima(or change it to the stock batt location) or totally get rid of it and get 2 xs3400(which is what i have heard from a few people) im looking into the group buy. Should i keep both batt. and get one 3400. Dont really want to run another one to the tuck bed though would rather have two. :pardon:

Had to throw something else in they have a 145 amp HO.alt on ebay for 110 should that do better with one new batt., or should the stock and two new batt be better.

I would throw the Optima up front, and get a D3100 for the trunk.....would also highly recommend a 240-300 amp alt from Mechman or DC Power, either company makes great alts and will give you 140-170 amps easy at idle.
