Dank Chimbowayuh
I recently got some door speakers installed by a local shop, now whenever the bass hits the speakers distort. If I turn the bass down it sounds fine, but whenever the subs start hitting it sounds like shit. Anyone know what it could be? iceman1575
If they're on stock headunit, or aftermarket with no amplifier, then it's not putting out enough power. Get a good aftermarket H/U and/or amp, make sure the x-over is set to take out the low frequencies i.e. 80Hz or so. You can put a $1k set of speakers in a door but if you send it a $5 signal, it's gonna tell you to f*** off big time. Quote POTATO!

I dont use bass boost, I have to have my subs at -14 on my HU for the distorting on my speakers to stop Quote http://i.imgur.com/I9ZWu.gif
Sanitarium
How is turning your sub control down on your headunit affecting your door speakers?
iceman1575
How is turning your sub control down on your headunit affecting your door speakers? I'm thinking his H/U may be linked to the sub output. Mine is too for some weird ass reason...only has front/rear outs with the rear acting as sub...which is why I need a new h/u Quote POTATO! Sanitarium
Best to run your highs off the front output exclusively then.
iceman1575
Best to run your highs off the front output exclusively then. Been doing that. Tried it with rear/subs sharing, but the sub controlled the rear output too. I'm hoping for a new h/u from Alpine for xmas so I don't have to worry. Quote POTATO!
