Help with connecting multiple devices

Hey whats up guys, long time youtube viewer, new to the forums.

I have an alpine 9831 that only has AINet input and currently only has Sirius attached, I am looking to add a MP3 player connection to the auxiliary, this is my idea:

From the Headunit AINet to RCA adapter, RCA to 3.5mm male, 3.5mm coupler with female on each end, 1male to 2female 3.5mm splitter, 3.5mm cable out each end to each device....Will this work? and what are the potential downfalls to this setup aswell as better alternatives.
