BanginGMC
Well, turns out the window crank/gear was blocking the left speaker on each door, so.. i had to make mdf rings for all 4 6.5s so everything would match. Panel before making any cuts First ring and speaker mounted Way more clearance now! Second ring mounted Both rings and speakers mounted Mounted the panel to the trim panel 1986 GMC Sonoma Chameleon paint lowered sitting on 20" Lexani rims with Pirelli's Representing Team Sundown ~ AZ Chapter Head Unit: Alpine iDA-X305S Front Stage: ( 7" AA Carbon Fibers (1) MTX TE 1004 Sub Stage: (2) 15" AA SMD (2) SAZ-3500D Electrical: (1) XS Power D3400 (4) XS Power D3100 (1) DC Power 320Amp Alt Scores: 152.6 @Kick. 152.0 @Headrest. 151.2 @Windshield. BanginGMC
Well, one thing i DID NOT think of is how i was going to run the speaker wire from inside the door to the inside of the cab.. my truck does not have any power windows or anything so there is no opening for wires. SO... i had to improvise. Door cut for speaker clearance, the edges are really sharp and gagged so i coated them up with duck tape I drilled 3 holes so i could run this tubing through, i coated the tubing in electrical tape Ghetto i know.. but hey, gotta do what i gotta do. BanginGMC
Installed and wired everything, did some tuning and.. WOW!!! It's amazing, its triple C no doubt! (crisp, clean, clear) I turned it on while my truck was in my garage, put the volume to about 25 then walked across the street into their garage and it sounded like they had a stereo playing inside his garage. Joey said he thought the dogs barking were real (DMX CD playing) I'm going to clean the install up, i was rushing to get everything done before 7. The dash is were the tweeters are located, i'm going get 2 thin pieces of wood and fit it into were the dash speakers were located, then cut holes for each pair of tweeters, black suede for the finish to match the rest of the truck. Should be pretty clean. This is a conversation between myself and the neighbor that lives across the street upstairs after i recorded my video of my system playing (4* 6.5s / 4* tweets) in my garage. **with her windows shut** Heres the main video! EDIT: camera was dying, so the picture isn't that amazing. 1986 GMC Sonoma Chameleon paint lowered sitting on 20" Lexani rims with Pirelli's Representing Team Sundown ~ AZ Chapter Head Unit: Alpine iDA-X305S Front Stage: ( 7" AA Carbon Fibers (1) MTX TE 1004 Sub Stage: (2) 15" AA SMD (2) SAZ-3500D Electrical: (1) XS Power D3400 (4) XS Power D3100 (1) DC Power 320Amp Alt Scores: 152.6 @Kick. 152.0 @Headrest. 151.2 @Windshield.
