TLEJ
So which one of these would be better...? I always see people 90 there corners.. but why not like this?
PandorasCustoms
Technically the first option would be better. But, it is just extra displacement that will have little benefit. And, just for technicalities... It is 45'n the corners. 90 is the standard right angle. TLEJ
Ok, so I've come up with this... Now you guys know I have no clue what I'm doing.. And I don't really understand the "Port Height".. But how does this all look..
PandorasCustoms
Well, if you are using the design shown above, the following needs to change... Port Height: 13.5" -- The port height is going to be the same as the box height, minus the 1.5" for the MDF. Port Width: 3"~4" -- I would try to stick to a 3"~4" minimum width just to allow enough airflow. Port Depth: ??? -- Modify the port depth to work in your favor, and achieve your desired tuning frequency. TLEJ
Ok, so just to be sure, the depth, is BOTH of the walls added together correct? And with the Port Height, ok that makes sense. EDIT: How's this.. Each sub calls for 1.5sqft.. I've got 2 subs. So 3sqrt in all is what I need. I want my tuning around 33-34. So, hows that? Those are almost perfect demensions for this little spot in my trunk it would slide up in. EDIT2: my cut sheets for the port aren't showing up? EDIT3: ah, I guess the calc. doesn't show if the port bends. Edited January 6, 2011 by TLEJ
