jacktumbleweed
I'm building a pair of towers for a simple home theater/music playback system. Each tower will have a Peerless 5.25" driver (100 watts) in a .32 cu.ft sealed compartment and one Dayton 1-1/8" silk dome tweeter (50 watts). Under each speaker box with be one Kicker 8" L5 (300 watts, dual 2ohm voice coil) in a ported enclosure tuned to 35hz. My plan is to have a TEAC AG-790A receiver (100 watts per channel), with one set of outputs to a Crown XLS1000 or QSC GX3 amp specifically for the subs, which will be wired to 4 ohms, and the other set to the mids/highs. Is it worth getting another small amp for the mids/highs? If so, any recommendations? All of the speakers are purchased and sitting in my room. Unfortunately, due to a strange course of events, that's all i've been able to buy til now. Also, if anyone has better ideas for anything, PLEASE let me know. All advice is greatly appreciated!
