I was referred to get this amp. However I usual use Sonicelectronix.com because they have great prices but they don't carry Crescendo. Where is a good place to buy Crescendo amps?? Thanks

yea, there is one on eBay going for $600, the exact same one I have (http://www.ebay.com/itm/PPI21400-PPI-21400-Car-Amp-/220992749079?pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item337431be17#ht_500wt_1361). It's a gorgeous amp. I think it gets hot because they are not as efficient as class d but also, like you said, it's not getting air underneath, and I'm running only 4 gauge power wire to it. Cheap wire I think. dBlink 4 gauge. Shit doesn't even look copper. I should have spent the money on good kicker 1/0 gauge wire. I may do that, get a class d for subs and put that big ol' thing for running speakers up front.

the model kickers are the newest. model 10CVX124. The PPI PC21400 runs very hot for some reason. I have the gain at 3/4 of the way with head unit at 30/40 but I am only using 4 gauge wire. I think I should be using 1/0. Could this cause the amp to run hot and drop power??

I currently have 2 12" Kicker CVX 4 ohm subs. I currently have them hooked up to an old school PPI PC21400. I have the subs wired to 4 ohms because the amp bridged is 1400 X 1 @ 4 ohms. I seems like the subs can take way more power and this amp runs very hot. I'd like every ones opinion on who makes a good amp anymore. I'm just getting back into car audio. I know PPI was good back in the late 90's but no I don't know. I'd prefer to get an amp this is 1 ohm stable so I can wire my subs only to 4 ohm and and 1 ohm. I was reading good reviews on the Hifonics Brutus series but would appreciate any feedback. I can spend around $400-$500. Thanks.

it looks like the o-scope is cheaper than the DD-1. I have read that when clipping or distortion occurs the sound waves will look flat. Is this the case?

This has been a big question of mine lately. I have 2 12" CVX 4 ohm with a PPI PC21400 amp. I have read how to set it with a multimeter, and that's what I did. 1400 watts X 4 ohms and then take the square root of that. It's ~74 volts. I used a 60hz test tone burnt on a CD using Audacity. I have a Pioneer AVH-P3400BH and set the volume to 30/40. I really don't know when the head unit starts to clip. I've never turned it up that far before. I also have a Sony XM-754HX 4 channel running my mids and highs and it doesn't distort. I had to turn the gain to damn near more than 3/4 of the way on my PPI to get 74 volts. I'm not sure if I did this right or not. Seems like it. Even thought the speakers can handle 1500 watts max, I don't want to distort them. I also used the dock connector in my HU to play Pandora and other music on my iPhone. The head unit has a feature that keeps all levels the same so once source isn't louder than another. I also noticed that with a different test tone at the same volume the voltage changes even though it's at the same gain level. The head unit also has a "loudness" feature. Level 1, 2, or 3. I usually keep this off, but this also changes things. Should I keep this off? Can anyone give me some feedback on this?

Go to Radio Shack and buy a standard 12v realy. Ground the top and left pin, put the remote on the right pin, and the green parking brake on the bottom pin. Done.

I just bought a brand new Pioneer AVH-P4300BH and I love it. I know the models are comparable. Definitely a great buy.
