2002 Caddy (8) Fi Btl 18's (2) Rockford T15k Rating Options

This is the beginning of a very large project.....scan thru the images and see (8) Fi BTL 18's in a 2002 Caddy Escalade on two Rockford Fosgate T15K amps (mids and highs too of course)...lots of goodies! Please leave comments on this page (click link)

.........project is started!! so far it will consist of 8 18" subs and the MIGHTY ROCKFORD T15K! This project might take a while since there is so much to do but here are some new progress pics.

yes, there is 8, 18" holes there and so far they may be facing eachother.

floor pieces in, back piece in......here is how it went down.

this is how i found the curve of the roof and side windows.......just remember, Cardboard is YOUR FRIEND when doing stuff like this




here is a handy tool, the "form finder".......helps with the crazy curves.










tape all the pieces together, add some too it where i any gaps occur........hey it happens!





once it was tight enough i pulled my template out of the caddy......


now i have a nice shape i can transfer that to the MDF

well those amp pics are old and it hasnt moved much till today. Me and dave lugged it into the caddy just so i can see how it will fit. I have plenty of room to do what i need to do....dont ask though, youll see.

we took an entire sheet and cut it into 6" Strips.....

in case you cant tell, this is to reinforce the baffle, it is only part of what im going to do......it should be VERY strong when im done

i did a ton of stuff today, not just the caddy but this still took a few......its now glued in place and screwed in with some fat ass screws......

added some 2x3's and due to the way the box is designed i was only able to get the small 1 1/8" batten on the top and bottom. It works great though because when building a box inside of a car you need to screw from the inside out.......they will work perfect.

Ok so this looks like just an ordinary sheet but its not just a sheet, its sheet #5.



















Burrito stopped by to chill and gave me a hand.......time to sammich the top board to the baffle.

not much of an update......the new batterys should be here any day and i also have a Hush-Matt sample on the way and if i like it ill order up. I need to take the enclosure back apart again and deaden the entire cabin or at least the rear half before i can permenently mount the box. Told you guys this is no rush job......i have my civic to finish as well as my house is getting a make-over by my Dad and Brother right now. (new stucco) If i want a new stucco job on my house for free then i have to be their burro (mule) while its being done, thats part of the deal So that being said ill keep you guys updated but i have a few things going at once....

Here is just a couple pics

The top of the box will have a layer of 2x3's plus the mdf board that mounts up there. I thought this would give it some more stregnth plus give me something to attach the top piece to.





i got other pieces "mocked up" and ready for install but again, im waiting on my damping material before i can go further.....

here is another thing i handled as well. I tinted all the rear windows 5% over the factory 20% (i think its factory 20).

just like my Hoe, you can not see inside even if you put your nose on the glass

Got the powermaster charger too but i was using it to charge the honda up and forgot to take a pic.








Got the HushMat the other day and today i installed about 100 sq feet of it. Boring pics but PROGRESS pics so dont bitch

here is the latest....looks like the same stuff but this time its for real and not mocked up any more. Glue, nails, screws.......its in the truck now for good
Cant forget to mention the headliner......that thing was a project in itself to replace after pulling it out. Its HUGE, and im all alone here most of the time.

Before i stuck the pieces back in ran the router over the baffles to clean them up some.

These 2 x3's not only make the roof a few inches thicker, it gives me something to attach my middle-chamber-roof piece too

each two-by was screwed to the one in front of it until i made it to the end....





























That well will have to be glassed over of course..

i had to cut this one all crazy to go around the rear-A/C stuff. It will be disabled, taped over, and glassed in (so i dont ruin it). I was going to try and use it but i just dont think ill be able to at this point. Its not needed anyway..




















The other 2x2's you see are going to help form an exo-skeleton type thing on the outside. Should be SUPER stout when im done with it. Lots of layers of wood and fiberglass coming up soon......ran out of wood tonite though so ill have to go shopping tomorrow after work.

top angled pieces in......its REALLY starting to look like a box now, its starting to make me giggle when i look at it

as you can see, it is close quarters in here, very uncomfortable to work in.......well being in the 215lb and up club dont help.
