2x DC AUDIO XL 18 BOX, Need experienced box builders advice

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, hope everyones feelin helpful, ive landed 2 DC AUDIO XL 18s on my door in new zealand and im struggling a little bit with the boxs slot port dimensions, i have in most circumstances used WINISD to help me workout the size my port needs to be but in this case once ive entered in the woofer parameters on the dc site i cant seem to get the tuning below 40-45hz, somewere between 35 and 40 is what im aiming for because i ike to rock out to a bit of dubstep.

currently the boxs internal volume including woofer displacement is 11.7 cubic feet, once ive added the slot port and deducted the volume of the slot port from the box im thinking it should be pretty close to were the internal volume wants to be, in any case i couldnt make the box any bigger if i wanted to, i have no space left so its as big as i can go

what i would really like is some recommended slot port dimensions from experienced box builders that really know their stuff, ive done a lot of custom work but the science behind sub boxs is something ive really only scratched the surface of and seeing as ive gotten my hands on these great woofers i really wanna do the product some justice by getting it right the first time

Any help would be so greatly appreciated guys

Dave
