jrussell9109
Buddy of mine just bought a 12" Type R sub and is looking for a decent amp for 200 or less, any suggestions?
RainStryke
Alpine MRV-M500. I got one off eBay for $120 and it sounds great on the SoundQubed HDS212 I paired it with. What version did he get, the D2 or D4?

RainStryke
If he's okay with used stuff, this would pair really nice with that Type R http://www.ebay.com/itm/Alpine-MRP-M1000-MONO-CHANNEL-AMPLIFIER-WITH-1000-WATTS-RMS-AT-2-OHM-MRPM1000-/121486734570?pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item1c492c74ea *EDIT* LOL it literally sold right after I linked it... maybe this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Alpine-MRP-M1000-/321587071711?pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item4ae0154adf
Afficionado
The newer Type R's are 1000 RMS, right? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Alpine-MRP-M1000-/321587071711?pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item4ae0154adf This should work nicely for him. SkarredSierra
kenwood kac-9106d. they are like 160 brand new on amazon. 950 rms at 2 ohms.
gally
the older alpine amplifiers like the m1000 are a little over rated..had the amp and we were testing it ...at 2 ohms at 13.8 the amp did poorly 700 and something watts... so i guess other options would be more of a choice 2010 Chevrolet Cruze Radio --- pioneer mvh-200vbt Front/back --- alpine type s 6.5" Sub Control --- Pac LC1 Sub Amp --- GZPA 1.4K Sub --- GZNW 15XSPL D1 Battery - GZBP 12.2500X

I've had them on the amm-1 myself. the 100M did 144 @ 4 ohm. the M500 did 665 @ 2 ohm I haven't tested a M1000, but I would be pretty sure it would do well over 1k.
