Engine Noise Coming Threw Rear Speakers? Rca's?
pk222 replied to pk222's topic in Head Units-Processors and Eq's
I know its been asked before but I tried the search and it didn't work. we just took the head unit out of his truck to put it in the mustang and the rca's were fine in the truck so I don't think it could be that. -
hey guys, I'm tryin to help a friend out, he just got a 2000 mustang and we changed the head unit from a old alpine to a pioneer 5900 and now its getting engine noise threw the rear speakers. for some reason the rear speakers are hooked up to an amp and the front aren't. He does not have the mach 460 system its all been replaced. I've heard of pioneer head units having problems with the rca's sometimes and somehow people grounded them and it went away, could this be the problem? if so how do you ground the rca's. I tried to search for this but nothing came up. Temporarily he just unhooked the rear amp and is just running the front speakers but he's installing his subs soon and wants to fix the rear speakers and make sure it doesn't happen with the subs too. thanks in advance for any input

well no one told me which one was better and I didn't think about the recones

I'm not biased but I most likely wouldn't go for the ford and I own a 95 mustang. reason why I wouldn't is because me dad had a 2000 f150 that blew a spark plug out of the head and ford wouldn't cover it. found out this was a common problem with the 5.4s and 4.6s and none of it was covered by ford. If the expedition or explorers your getting come with something else other than the 5.4 or 4.6 which I doubt then I would recommend the ford but just keep in mind you could get one of the thousands like my family did that blew the plugs out of the heads or could be lucky and get one that had more than three threads in the heads.. other than the plugs the 5.4 is a great motor and easy to make good power with good luck choosing

I was gonna chose the IA because soon they will be going up in price and then I wont be able to afford it and the IA is cheeper even with the shipping.
-
ok cool, thanks for all your guy's help. I'll try to decide between them but I think I'll probably end up with the IA since their going up in price soon but I'm not sure.
-
ok cool, and do you know if fi's prices include shipping? I don't remember where but I've heard that before
-
ok the only thing I herd about them is that they were redesigned and supposedly way better now but I don't know. has anyone owned both of them? I'm thinking of going with the fi just because people have had it and know its a decent sub
-
ok then what would be the better choice?
-
ok cool thanks. and just making sure soundsolutionsaudio is a good place to buy from right? I've just had a couple of friends buy car audio stuff from places online and never gotten their stuff.
-
hey guys, finally gonna have money to get a decent system. my first question is, are these even comparable? there both gonna be around $200 with shipping. just making sure, I'm pritty sure I heard that fi audios prices included shipping is this true? I'm planning on going with a single 12 nothing major. I have a 95 mustangs svt cobra coup to work with. I know the trunk isn't that big but I think I can fit the proper size box for a single 12 back there. I know it depends on the amp also but I'm gonna run whatever I get off my crappy audiobahn 900 rms amp until I can afford the right amp for whatever sub I get. thanks in advance for any help and I know I've asked close to this question a couple months ago but I ended up having to drop a bunch of money into my car because the hood flew up causing $5 grand worth of damage so I had to put a hold on the system and had more time to look over more subs that I thought were better suited to what I wanted which is a decent daily system and I listen to mostly old skool rap
-
ok well I'll probably make my decision between the two of those and perfer the re se if I can find it for a good price. what box would you recommend for either in a 95 cobra coup?
-
thanks for the link and now I feel dumb, I looked up re audio and only had a few things pop up I don't know why. I'll look more into that site and I'll call ikesound what do you guys think of the audioque Street Duty SDC2.5 Series?
-
I only found one on ebay for $140 plus shipping.
-
ok i didn't know thats just what I've heard. do you know of anywhere else I could find the re se for that price?
-
ok cool, I know theres been problems with replica re subs and ones from over seas does anyone know if its ok to get them from here? http://ikesound.com/product-product_id/7652
-
I was thinking either these or the Audioque Street Duty SDC2.5 Series. would the others be better than this? I've heard about the hdc3 but nothing about the lower models. I know the hdc3 gets pritty loud but suffers sound quality. are the lower models the same way?
-
hey guys, I know most of you have heard the re se so I've heard a lot about these but what do you guys think about the cadence wild beast? I'm trying to decide on a setup for my 95 mustang coupe. I'm looking at going with a single 12 and a recommendation on an amp to use on it. both subs I can get for $100. I'm looking for recommendations between those 2 and any others close to that price range. Also I was thinking of maybe even going with a single 15 if I could fit it. would this be better since I'm going with a single sub? I want something that will have good sq and be decently loud. I listen to mostly older rap. I was thinking of going 2 10s but its too far out of my price range. thanks in advance for any help
-
any ideas?
-
should I go sub up port back, sub back port back, sub back port side? I'm sorry for so many questions I just really don't know anything about putting subs in trunk cars. the only thing I really knew was that for my last mustang which was an 89 hatch that I should do a crx style with subs up port back and that sounded decent with 2 10 in almost blown hx2s
-
well that and my car has an ebach lowering kit and can barely make it up the driveway as it is ok well should I go sealed or ported?
-
I dont want to weigh it down but also 1-2 and some of third when I'm on it theres no traction. but like you said I'm thinking like you said a single 12 in dc lvl 3. I've never heard these but how would this compare to a rockford fosgate p3? I know this is probably apples to oranges but I don't have much to compare too.
-
If I could find 2 12s in my price range that would be cool but I don't think its going to happen. I was planning on having the subs pointed towards the back seats because thats what I've seen most often but I don't know if thats best or not because pritty much no one in my area knows much about car audio
-
ok, well I'm planning on around 180-220 for a sub. I already have an amp that I will be using until I get more money another job and then get an amp to the perameters for the sub. the amp I have is a crappy audiobahn 900 rms which I'm sure isn't doing all of that. I want to go with a single 12 or if space permits a single 15 that will have good sound quality and decent bass. I listen to mostly rap. I was thinking an fi q but money wont permit at this time. so I'm not really set on any sub I'm open to any recommendations. the trunks pritty big so I have a decent amount of room to work with.
