  1. I'm not sure what you mean by terminal your amp correctly but don't they usually have problems when you connect or disconnect the rcas while there is power to the hu?
  2. The relay is bad.. It sounds like static when I turn on my ignition
  3. I took my car back to the shop i baught my amp and the guy tried a rca splitter off the front set of rca's and it sounded fine so i guess that rules out the amp and I've tried a couple pairs of rca's with the same issue. I'll try disconnecting at the hu and connecting at the amp to see what happens but i don't know what it would be if its not the amp or the hu and ive already tried different rca's? also the shop i origionally had hook up my hu put it in my old envoy. they set up a relay system for the parking brake feature. it worked fine in my envoy but is not in my camaro. i didn't change anything with the relay set up.. possible the relay fried? and any way of testing it?
  4. Forgot to say it's only having problems with the rear output. The front and sub are fine
  5. Hey guys I've got the pioneer 4300 DVD in my Camaro and now that im trying to run a 4 channel I'm getting engine noise.. I've had it happen before on other pioneers and fixed it by wrapping the outputs with a bare wire and grounding it. I tried that and it hasn't fixed my problem. Any other solutions?
  6. The h/u alone was 299. the rest was acceaories and install
  7. I ended up gettin it installed for $450 with all accessories and relay done.. It was a $50 difference for them to do it and I was a couple hours away from home and really wanted to hear it haha. I don't think I'll ever buy another h/u thats not a touchscreen. I haven't found anything I don't like about it yet. Best h/u I've had by far and sound quality(i know it was swapped from stock but still) is amazing.
  8. I don't have the steering wheel controls and hate the door chime so it works perfect. Not planning on watching vids but I might as well do it while I have it apart. Thanks a lot for all your help
  9. I have a Droid and don't think it's compatible. But what about the interface? Is it required?
  10. That helps me out a lot. But do i need the interface or am I ok just getting the regular harness?
  11. Back to a stock deck in my 03 gmc envoy and always wanted an indash so I'm gonna give it a shot. I was looking into the pioneer 4300 what do you guys think of it? I found it for under $400 shipped. I already have 2 12 in hype arghs on an old power acoustic amp that came with the car hah. The kid hooked up a line out converter and his hack job is causing problems. The deck randomly wont work until i disconnect the battery for a second then it's fine which is why it's pushing me to get a new one soon. I'm just learning about the class 2 data system used in newer GM's. I was told at the first shop i went to it would be a minimum $300 to install not including a deck so I just left.. I've heard that I don't even need the interface if I don't care about the door chime's and the h/u will shut off when i turn the car off instead of when I open the door. I don't really care about either of those, so is it possible to just wire it up with a normal harness? Another shop told me I would have problems because of the automatic lights but I have no idea. Also I found an old thread about someone having to use a 12v constant and ignition off of the fuse box under the back seat instead of the factory one in the dash. It said something about it not having enough voltage? I only found that one issue with that but is there anything like that, that needs to be done? Thanks for any help guys
  12. I don't know anything about the crown amps other than their really expensive. I would just use a plate amp. It would be a lot cheaper and still sound great. check parts-express they'll have what you need.
  13. Its going to have to. The box is only 14 in deep. I'll just cut it long and keep cutting it down until it sounds best and if I go to far then I'll grab some more abs and make it where it sounded best.
  14. I already have a 5 ft piece of abs. I don't see why thatd be any different than pvc
  15. ok I'll try that then. Thanks for all the help guys
  16. I know the box is small but thats as big as I can go in my 97 convertable mustang. I already have to partially build it in the trunk. Do you think those subs would sound good ported at 38 hz? Their recommended for a little bigger box than I can provide but said to tune between 30-34 hz. And I'm thinking of flaring the ports which says to add another inch onto the port. Would it be worth flaring it? I'm not worried about numbers I doubt I'll even ever run it on a meter I just don't want port noise.
  17. I'm almost done building a 2.58 cube box for my 2 12 in ssa d cons. The last thing I'm stuck on is the ports. I have it set up for dual 4 in aero ports. I cant find a calculator that says how long they need to be each. I found one on carstereo and it came up with 19.78 but didn't say if that was each or divided between them. Does anyone know? I'll try to post up a build log when I'm done.
  18. this has happened to other systems i've fixed when people put their inputs in the front pre out instead of the sub
  19. I guess.. It was bullshit. just looking for a reason to pull me over. the same cop that pulled me over not even a week ago for no front plate. He was cool about it for the most part but he didn't have to give me a ticket for it.. Anyone want a gold 98 z28 camaro? Cop saw the for sale sign and asked why i was selling so I told him the truth. To much cop attention. to busy tryin to meet quota pulling me over for petty crap to do any real work to better the area. that song was hilarious haha.
  20. hey guys. just got a citation for my music being heard over 50 ft from the vehicle and have to go to court. What kind of fines am I looking at? I live in northern cali. I wasn't being stupid and bumping at a stop light or anything, i was out on open country roads that the houses are at least a couple hundred feet back from venting after work. Sorry if this isn't the right section.
  21. my 95 cobra had dumps and I never noticed exhaust fumes but don't live in the city where theres a lot of stop and go. The fumes werent an issue for me but the constant drone at 2000 rpm got a little old sometimes. Still have times where I miss it though haha
  22. yes you can hear it outside. If it just a noise don't worry about it. 2 of my friends have fords and I can tell its them even before their on my street from the power steering whine
