  1. just went through the calculations again and found out I accidently ported it to 32 hz should that be ok? I messed up the length and did a single 4 in port with 10.5 in length.
  2. just went through the calculations again and found out I accidently ported it to 32 hz should that be ok? I messed up the length and did a single 4 in port with 10.5 in length.
  3. I just went and ported mine to 35 hz in a 2.389 cu ft box for 2 10s. still waiting for the liquid nails to dry. damn.. 95 degree weather is not fun to be making boxes in lol.
  4. did you ever port your hx2s? if so in what size box and to what hz? I'm just not sure what to port mine to
  5. k I used a port calculator and thinking of using the 4 in port and going 10.5 in deep because thats what the port calculator said should be around 35 hz, should i tune lower?
  6. o k good I was thinking about porting them today. but instead of using actual aero port I would be using a piece of 4 in abs tubing, would this be ok? I heard that it should be ok because of the larger diameter tubing I wouldnt get port noise. I can change it later if it dosent sound good I just wanted to see how it would sound ported and if it sounded bad I would block it off. but I was told that was a mojor not to do lol that it would get too much movement and over excursion and just seize up. I thought that was kinda weird. dont be sorry you've already helped me with a lot of choices and found the specs for my subs which I haven't been able to find.
  7. cheep as possible to what ever will work lol. thanks for looking those specs up for me and the amps. and letting me know about the 2 ohms on the kicker amp, didnt think about that. O and also I was thinking about porting my box for the hx2s. I heard this is a really bad idea and they will blow very fast, is this true? I have 2 10s and the box is 2.389 cu ft before displacement and I was thinking of using a 4 in aero port tuned to around 35 hz, would that sound better than sealed?
  8. I dont know the rms rating, it dosent say it on the sub just that its dual 4 ohm and their 10s so I dont think they could take that much.
  9. those sundown amps are a little far out of my price range, thats why I was looking at the kicker 750.1 because I can get it for like $210 shipped. I found the sundown amps for $399 at the cheepest. Unless I can find it somewhere else cheeper I wont be able to get one for a while.
  10. ya thats true. the hx2s are dual 4 ohm and I have them running to my 900 watt rms audiobahn and its decent but just want a lot more. I'm thinking of getting a kicker 750.1 , would that be a good amp for the hx2s and if I still end up wanting the t1 ?
  11. also I know this isnt relevent to this thread but I checked my voltage the other day and without the stereo on my voltage is consistant at 14 volts with the stereo on it drops to 12.5 is that ok? just want to make sure I dont have to majorly upgrade my charging system before I buy other new things
  12. thats what I was thinking, but I have 2 old hx2s right now and just dont want to downgrade but these hx2s are old and worn out. It could be the "audiobling" amp I have pushing it but just dosent satisfy me. I've never owned a completly new sub so I just wanted to make sure this was going to be the one I wanted for a while. I'll give up sq with the 12?
  13. hey guys, ordering a rockford fosgate t1 tonight and I'm trying to decide whether to get a single 12 in or a single 15 in. I know with certain high end subs it dosen't matter as much about size for sound quality but I dont know if thats how these are. I can make a decent box for the 12 to the right size requirements but on the 15 I just dont want to have a really undersized box. I can go maybe 3 cu ft max but I think the 15 is meant to be in a 4 cu ft box. I just dont want to get the 12 and wish I had the 15. but I still want a lot of sound quality. any input is appreciated thanks in advance.
  14. lowes is just as far. I live in the fricken sticks lol it sux
  15. would you run the xenon component kit? the xenon kit I know has silk tweeters which is what I want. I dont know if the sd kit has silk or titanium it dosen't say. the xenon kit takes 150 watts rms and the sd takes 60 watts rms. other than that I dont really know much to look for in a component kit thats why I was looking for recommendations
  16. those look really nice and you have an awesome set up. What do you guys think of the pheonix gold sd components? i found them for $130 plus shipping http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=17540 I noticed that the other pheonix gold speakers that were recommended only has 1 left thats why I looked into these, better or worse than the others?
  17. what brand are the power series components? havent heard of them. also I know this isnt relevent to this post or this section but I'm in the middle of building a box with aero ports and need to find out how to brace them, any suggestions? they arent actual aero ports their just pvc pipes.
  18. the closest home depot is over an hour and a half away from me or else I would go get some there. if i end up there I will look for them.
  19. cool, I'm going to try to look around more for them somewhat locally but I will most likely get those. do you guys think audio shops would have them? I have 2 withen an hour from my house. thanks for the link emat19876
  20. those look really nice and are a great price if their as good as the reviews on them. will my kenwood kac-848 amp be enough to push these? I currently have my amp only running 2 channels with the door speakers, dash speakers and rear speakers but soon I am going to switch to running each speaker to it own channel but I was going to keep the dash and door speaker to 1 channel for those, is this a good idea?
  21. right now I have some polk db series 5.25s in the doors of my 89 mustang gt. their a little old and aren't really fulfilling what I want out of them. I was thinking of getting some rockford fosgate speakers because recently I have seen more and more poeple getting them and installing a majority of them into their vehicles. I was thinking of getting some cdts but since I've seen this I was starting to rethink. the ones I was planning on getting are these http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Product_ID=4539 how would you guys rate these? I have my current door speakers, dash speakers, and rear speakers running off a kenwood kac-848 amp and it sounds decent but really need some new tweeters, have some kicker titanium dome tweets in one of the most retarded spots you could even think to put them from previous owner. 2 of the other kits I was thinking of were these http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Product_ID=5208 and http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_10496_...lassic+C5A.html What would you guys recommend? if not these then what? I'm on a tight budget and don't know much about component sets other than I don't ever want metal dome tweeters again. I have never heard of dls until recently a friend suggested them, what do you think of those? open to recommendations. thanks in advance for any help, opinions or recommendations
  22. hey guys, been trying to go everywhere to find some t nuts, no one even knows what they are. I've gone to autozone, kragen, couple hardware stores and nothing, they just look at me like I have no idea what I'm talking about. all they can think of for what I'm trying to describe is the clips that are for machine screws but I cant use those for what I'm trying to do. anyone recommend a place to find some t nuts or something else that is similar? thanks in advance and sorry if this is in the wrong section didnt really know what this would be applicable for.
  23. and now for some reason after messing around with it, it works on and off, like I'll press the button maybe 15-20 times quick and then it will lock or unlock the doors without the alarm and then it goes into valet mode and I can take it out then and it works fine for like the next 5-6 times I use it.
  24. how would I reset it? and damn, I had no Idea this was that expensive of an alarm. I know price dosen't always mean its the best one but how good is my alarm really?
  25. come on I know a lot more of you know about alarms at least way more than I do. I have been told that I should have a new alarm installed and it would cost more to fix the one on it because they wouldnt be able to treble shoot the problem easily and it could take minutes or it could take hours. What are your thoughts on this? Are there any fuses I can check for or ?
