J00bles' DC XLs Die!

moment of silence for a sub that died in action... -
Well, you said your suspension is old and worn out, that is one of your problems. Replace suspension with new stuff and get a alignment too. If you continue to drive on the old and worn out parts, you will have tire wearing problems along with other stuff such as other parts wearing out faster and also safety issues. I used to work at a repair shop and have seen what could happen, sometimes very minor to almost not worth it even paying the sky high bill. i may seem dumb but i should replace what then? the shocks?

im not really sure what the issue is, ive been told that its my tires & that its my suspension... well the main issue is that when im driving my car it starts to like pull to one side & then to the other (it mainly happens when im turning) i noticed it happens the most when im on the freeway & my tires go on the little black lines that are on the road, that divide the old lanes or w/e... like i said i was told that it may by my tires & i just got new tires yesterday but i didnt get a chance to drive it much just from the shop to the house cuz i was going somewhere for 4th of july weekend & left my car at home... & yes my suspension is old & worn out but yeah i dont know much about that... so what do you guys think it is? -Thanks in advanced

New Head Unit...
Carlos Tj replied to Carlos Tj's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
The sony HU you have now is an aftermarket one? Like, not factory installed? then Yes, you should be able to take the color coded wires from the back of the new HU, and connect them directly to the same-color wires on the wire harness the current HU is using. Simple enough, but make sure you solder your connections, and tape or heat shrink them well. Don't use Wire nuts, or just wrap the wires together and tape, both of those will fail eventually from bass/road vibration. As long as you have a wire harness made for your car, and already have a dash-install kit for your car, it should be fairly simple. any other way than to soler them? cuz first of all ive never soldered anything in my life! secound i dont have the equipment or w/e u need to solder haha -

Ok so i bought a new HU for my car to replace the old Sony i have in it right now & i wanted to install it myself... Is the KDC-X494 hard to install or any HU overall? I have already taken out the Sony HU when i plugged in the RCA's & Remote for my amp & it looked like a lot of cables & I seriously got intimidated! hahaha if its my first time doing this will it be too hard? i mean ive seen ppl change HU in 10 mins or less but for me its going to be a challange lol Can anyone help? hahaha I'm trying to do as much as i can myself so i can learn in the process i dont want to just pay & get everything done...

i use RF website to view the wiring diagrams lol but yeah just wanted to know what terminals to use but now that i know im ready to order the DC well not yet like in a week or two With my current amp I'm running just 1 pos and 1 neg on the amp for 2 woofers. Seems like your ready to go. but you got the subs wired to what ever set of ohms you want the amp to give out... man i didnt know it was that easy haha i was having a panic attack hahaha but yeah thanks man

so you can choose any terminals as long as your sub is wired correctly either to 2ohms 4ohms etc... & i dont have the sub yet but planning on getting a dc lvl 2 8 Yep. What coils are you getting on that 8? That amp does 300 at 2 ohms. yeah i know thats why i put earlier 2ohms & 4ohms but i would buy a d4 so i can wire it up to 2ohms right? hahaha
