Huge difference there Steve! Good to see you've thought about the safety aspect of things. That is a very heavy vehicle to pull up fast. But those brakes do a great job!
Plus they look wicked!!
-
They look sexy as hell, Steve!
-
As I said last time. Your brakes are bigger than my rims. They are sexy looking!!
-
Well I used to run these IIRC they're the 05 versions
Those be 2002-2003 model.
I've owned one of each but not the newest one. They all still have bugger all thermal power handling but they seem to be making things stronger physically. I used to chew the crap out of the soft parts on my old ones, they were just weak. The newer ones seem more rugged. As for louder, probably not a huge deal.

Can you get a screenshot of the error? If it's the same one I had, I emailed Wayne and he gave me a code that fixes it every time.
-
Hmm, I'm not digging that.

8350 watts Each @ 1 ohm?
What is your coil config mike? Daymn
I though we we're runnin almost the same wattage, but not anymore.... I'm almost at 6k
Yah they're monsters!!
Each sub is dual 1.5ohm, it was a one off order for me, that's why they took so long to arrive.. The coils are seriesed together presenting 3 ohms each sub. So then each sub is paralleled into rows of three, presenting 1 ohm at each amplifier!
Thanks guys

no not yet man still in the plannin phase
and hes running 2 Z2's so prob around 8-10 k
They're the new DD Z2LV. The DD Audio webpage rates them at 8350wrms @ 1ohm each so anywhere around there is good.
Thanks for all the replies guys. Should have my front stage soon!

Mine's tuned to either 33 or 35Hz. Somewhere round there. But it does drop low low! I wouldn't angle the port. That slope, from the rear window is undesirable. I would try and get the whole clamshell as symetrica as possible so the top row doesn't load differently to the bottom row etc,

Dunno if you seen mine or not but here's a quick pic for a squizz..
It sounds pretty bad ass for a lil system. Would love to try eight though.

Thanks guys. I have more vids but have to find time to upload them.

Holy Shite!! 16" Rotors! That's bigger than the rims on my trooper! Your Hoe is gonna pull up as quick as an F#1 car now!

Finally got my system going so I thought I'd throw up some vids. It's pretty loud for what it is but still not finished. I'll be posting more vids up as the week progresses. These vids are from Narrogin Rev-Heads which was a big journey to travel to but way worth it! Gave it a tonne of demos to everybody and the DD gear held up flawlessly!

Yes! That was a great idea Steve, very effective!
-
x2 on that filler, Steve. Looks like it makes a huge difference. Good to see the little things don't get forgotten
-
Bad Ass Steve, all your videos are great but these older ones are excellent.
Just dug this off my hard drive. Anyone remember this particular Tahoe?

Not quite sure why people are in love with them so much. Sure, they have a tonne of XMAX but so do a lot of subs. I guess that's why people have different tastes.
-
That's my vid. Thanks for posting
We could have fed more power into it if the coil didn't keep shorting on the bottom plate, making sparks and sending the amp into protection. It's running off a Response 1500wrms monoblock (Same amp as Sundown 1500) there wasn't really anything hugely wrong with the sub. I think the coil had become mis alligned in the gap and scraped on certain notes. IDMAXs have such pissy weak suspension strength I don't really like IDMAXs. After this, we sold this sub to Cash Converters (A local pawnbroker) and that's the last we saw of it

Oh yeah it's great

Great wiring Steve. I bet you were shit scared of dripping solder on the new carpet though

What are those? Shockers? The top plate looks strange. Got a pic of the very back? Looks like they've had a previously tough hard life (recones)
They look like monsters btw!

Even 3kw is some serious grunt for a single 12" sub on daily use. For SPL I wouldn't be scared at all with that kind of power level but for daily you'd wanna make sure you get the enclosure spot on to make the most of your power handling, both thermal and mechanical.
just my 2c
