  1. Just to be safe, you would do best to post the specs of your sub on here and have someone tell you how big to make it and how big to do the port as well.

You cant just drill out a hole in a sealed box and make it ported, sealed boxes are smaller in volume than what would be needed for a ported in most cases.

If your wanting specs for a custom box, find someone on here in the subwoofers/enclosures thread that will come up with a design for you, thats what i did when iw as gonna get 2 l7 15's had someone design a box for me using google sketch up, all you gotta do is give them the dimensions of your trunk, and what size your subs are, what power your pushing etc..

then that's what ill have to do tehn but not right now cause im BROKE and in debt to be doing big thangs but thatnks though.

  2. make sure you tune the ports lol, you cannot just add ports without calculating anything and expect results. that what happend to the guys w3's.

    gotta do some math!!! =)

    good luck

okay so then what would i use in order to get the tuning of the ports?like is there a program that i could use?and thanks everyone for helping me out :D i appericate it

  3. Work about the same.

so could i use the sealed box as like a plan and just make the new box bigger and add aero ports to it?and the aero ports would go on the top right?or would i have to start fresh?and on teh aero porst i noticed that on a pre fab box(obcon makes them)the would have two aero ports one inside and one outside is that how you do it?

  4. Well heres what typically happens you take a sealed box which is typically much smaller than the ported spec you add aero ports and you end up with a tuning extremely high (50hz+) and when I tries to play a low note it unloads the driver or the box is too small the cone can't move enough to cool the VC and it end up smoking the coil.

so im pretty much better off with the sealed box for now.hmm thanks i learned something new today :) .but say i do build a box what materials would i need in order to make a box?

  5. Then stay with your sealed box or ask a couple of your friends if they have tools....building boxes isn't something your just automatically great at (unless you did woodworking before) you gotta try and try agin you'll get better eventually.

my friend might have tools, but say i do build a box what materials would i need in order to make a box?

  6. ok guys im headin to RTTI Top Gun for Rockford in mid August.......just got my plane tickets and class schedule today! Ill have some free time at least a few nites during the week im there so hit me up if you want to meet up :D

  7. wake up at 6:35am(sometimes)

Leave the door at 6:40am(sometimes 6:45)

Have to get there at 7:00am usually with two minutes to spare good thing it's like 3 miles aways from my house

After i get off my job i rush to my house get to my house at 4:40 to go to my other job, change and at 4:50 leave the door to get there at 5 but im always 3-5 mins late but good thing we have a window to be late :D

  8. i may have to do a 2 ohm final load. each 12 would only get about 187 watts

well you can i looked at the 12 volt website and it said that you could that 0.5 ohm i mean you coould try the 0.5 ohm but i dont think that amp is stable at 0.5 but that's just my guess not really sure since i dont have a crunch amp so really cant help you there.

  9. If you are worried about airflow to the motors, just invert the subs.

thing is though that they'll hit the trunk and theyll use a lot more of the trunk which i have no more due to those 15's :cray:

but is it really that bad to have those subs in a sealed box?
