while the math looks good on paper, it doesn't take into account the rest of the factors that affect the amount of power your amplifier will output. your DCR might be 4ohm, but the reactive load your amp sees will not be 4ohm. the amp will never see 4ohm once power is applied to the load. you could very well leave your amp gain at the level determined using the DD-1 using the -5dB overlap track, and not risk hurting your sub, because you will not have 242 watts output at all times, and likely will have less than RMS power going to your sub most of the time. You can turn it down as a precautionary measure, but I personally do not feel it's needed.

Oh i read that but didn't give it any thought.
Thought it was bad gas issue, the "inoperable after filling" part got me.
green handle = diesel pump handle at most of the gas stations I go to. use diesel in a non-diesel vehicle and your vehicle will be inoperable shortly after filling.

Oregon made it so people can pump their own gas now

yes, properly set up and in the correct enclosure.
do not waste your time on prefab enclosures. there's plenty of people on this forum to help you design one that fits within your specific dimensions available, and even a few who will build the enclosure for you.

I agree with ChevyBoy95 somewhat. Having the amp mounted to an enclosure can be bad for the amp if it is vibrating a lot. A properly braced enclosure will have little excessive vibration though, and the amp will experience vibration no matter where it is mounted due to vibration from the vehicle, and vibration from the subs. Vibration is inevitable, and only gets “worse” when you install subwoofers and increases as power/air movement increases. If your change in your cup holder or you’re able to do shirt tricks or anything else moves/vibrates while playing music, your amp is also experiencing vibration (unless you’re walled and completely sealed/eliminated vibration behind the wall.) Vibration is the nature of the beast called audio.

Replaced AC finally, so it’s nice to have cold air blowing on me when I want it. Put some blue vinyl tape on my bow tie
had the sticky vinyl tape for a while, grabbed it off of eBay, just never got around to putting it on. I wanna put audio back in, but every time I think of all of the sanding involved I get discouraged. Bout to leave real soon for deployment again, so maybe when I come back I’ll stop being a whiny bitch and start glassing and sanding again. We’ll see. Gotta divide my time between this, repairing the harley from my wife wrecking it, and making home improvements to make it a little more how we want it. I’ve got thirty years to make it mine though, so we’ll see ?

I don’t think it needs to be any better. Good enough for government work

haven't had much to brag about lately, but this is nice to have
I have fios gigabit, which is supposed to be about the same speeds, but I haven't seen it yet. And somehow it's cheaper to have the gigabit, than to get the 150MBPS service which is slower than the 200-ish MBPS I've seen. Although, I haven't tested it with a hardline yet.

No, they don't, and I don't condone what I did nor am I proud of it. But if someone other than myself puts my life into danger or risk of harm, I'm going to make that person pay in some way shape or form. You don't have to agree with it, it is what it is.

It might not have done anything for her, it might have opened her eyes to realize she shouldn't be doing something that puts others in harms way and makes her pay attention to what's around her more. Like I said, I'm not proud nor do I condone it, but I'm not going to let a risk of my life go unnoticed. My horn did nothing as she continued to come over, she didn't know I was there till I was right next to her window because she wasn't paying any attention to her surroundings, only the phone in her hand

Just a PSA that everyone needs to use there mirrors, and a shoulder check for your blind spots doesn't hurt either. Turning your indicators on and then looking/waiting for it to be clear is the way it SHOULD be done.
Yeah, I probably could have braked and let her in and just been pissed at being cutoff, but she didn't even take the time to see if anything was there. My front tire was already at the back of her car before she started coming over. Use your mirrors or lose them.

Awe that dog is adorable!
And wow I had no idea that the procedure would be so fast. I wonder if lasik is the same?
Maybe I'll have to look into it
He is! He's also a pain in the ass, but it's like every time he does something bad, he makes up for it by being all cute and playful
LASIK takes only a couple minutes longer maybe, but the procedure requires a flap to be cut into your cornea, and that flap never heals, only the skin on top of it, which puts it at risk of becoming dislodged from its normal position and you would have to go back in to get it put back into place of that happened. I personally didn't like the idea of the flap that never fully heals possibly causing me any issues down the road. The benefit with lasik is the healing process isn't as long, and you see clearer faster. Just don't rub your eyes or take any objects or puppy paws to the eye region of your face

I'm excited to see you get back to work on this
Lasik is something I've considered, but I couldn't bear the idea of having to be awake and hear / feel / smell any burning in my eyes lol. How was the PRK surgery?
Also, everyone knows it's obligatory on the internet to post puppy pics if you mention one!
Haha puppy pics inbound!
The first three are from before we picked him up, the last one is from last week. He's gotten a little bigger since last week.
The PRK was good. I was in and out in five minutes. They propped my eye lid open, scraped the top layer of skin with a dremel like tool, hit it with the laser for a few seconds (laser is already computer-mapped to my cornea to correct it where needed), moved to the other eye, same process, put a protective contact in my eye to help the top layer of skin heal. I just got the contacts out today. Vision is already 20-20 with some slight fogginess, but they said that the fogginess is normal and goes away over the next month or so. A total of six months for the healing process. Some minor discomfort through the week, but nothing big. It's kind of like seasonal allergies, all the time, no matter where you are or what you're doing. But that's gone today it seems

hey guys. still no update. not what you want to hear, i know.
but i bought a house. I'm actually the first one in my family to have bought a house in quite a long time, so i feel like i'm doing good for myself. i also got a puppy, an all white siberian husky who loves to pee all over my floor no matter how many times we take him outside and watch him pee. he is only ten weeks old though, so i will give tiny puppy bladder a little credit there.
I also just had laser refractive eye surgery (PRK, not lasik) on monday, so my vision isn't quite up to par yet, but its still 200% better than what it was before the surgery. tomorrow they take the protective contacts out, and my vision will only get better from there.
but with my house, comes a decent driveway (i could fit six cars bumper to bumper) and a single car garage (that has shelving and came with a BEER FRIDGE!!!) So i can't actually fit the tahoe in it anyways, but at least i have work space. Ive made some minor upgrades and changes to the house, because i've been home for three weeks straight between moving, taking care of the puppy, five days SIQ for the eye surgery. but hopefully soon, my afternoons will be taken up with working on this tahoe again. having work space makes all of the difference,. i did a lot of work prior to moving into my apartment, and during the two years at my apartment, the only thing i did was build an enclosure, and start a lot of projects of "i want to do this". time for a change. it's gonna be hard to budget a audio fund and a home fund, but we'll make it work. Thanks for checking it out if you've never seen this log before. For those following/subscribed, the next update will contain my wiring a TORK 2 from Tony C. behind my dash, that way i can power my outdated Compustar Dash cam, amps, and meters. Thanks for any support.

Which one do u use
I haven't decided on a new one yet. Haven't done anything for my build in a while. For desktop browsing, if you right click a photo then you can copy the URL and paste it here and should work fine. Not sure with mobile, haven't tried copying the URL of a pic yet. I usually just upload them to the forum if they're under .49MB

That's fine. there's nothing wrong with being precautious. As long as you're happy with the final outcome, that's the important part. not all music is created equal, so that gives you plenty of headroom to work with since -6dB is a quarter of the power output
