  1. In what state is that street legal?

Can it actually be driven to the store and back, in traffic, without overheating?

    Street legal my fucking ass.

I guess the announcer means "legal" in the strictest sense.

I mean- you you put lights, a windshield, and a tag on a dirt tracker- but you wouldn't really call it street legal. lol

In what state is that street legal?

    Street legal my fucking ass.

dunno what state but it was part of drag week. So yea it drove to every track it raced at. So store and back no problem. Probably had to swap tires to be street legal but thats not a huge deal.

WTF is drag week? If you want to sell me, you better come with more facts. For all I know, he lives a block away from the track.

    So its a reality show.

Like I said, street legal my ass.

I'd love to see that truck stuck in rush hour traffic in SoCal.

Ok I know it's late now, but street legal was defined by Hot Rod Magazine as:

    1. Pass safety inspection

    2. Can drive 1000 miles without any issues (such as overheating)

    3. Properly Licensed for street use (tags and reg)

    4. Properly Insured for street use

Everyone knows you can hardly do shit to your car in Cali. But in Missouri and most other states, it's legit.

also fuck Cali when it comes to their ridiculous rules and CARB. I turned down a job in San Diego because I was like nope...cost of living + gun laws + emissions/street legal bs not worth it.

  3. .... I didn't know rolling coal was something to be considered "new", it's kind of been going on for a while.

    And from that link

Rolling coal” is the latest phenomenon that has environmentalists all a’flutter, a practice by....
New Jersey state bill A3583 “prohibits retrofitting diesel-powered vehicles to increase particulate emissions for the purpose of “coal rolling”; prohibits the practice of “coal rolling.”

Oh, that explains it I guess. Bunch of New Jerseystan dirty vagina hippy tree-huggers are bitching about it, so lets try to make a bill banning it... because New Jersey.

Its awesome that the guy at the EPA who made a lot of the clean air act rulings was a crazy/worhtless sob. Diesels up the fuel curve to get better mileage too....of all the things they could regulate diesel trucks and cars are not the ones they need to worry about. HOw about the tree huggers in Jersey worry about all the fucking trash that they legally binded to accept from other states? Christ leave the guy with stacks alone he ain't hurtin nobody.

Also with the correct tune you shouldn't be dumping fuel or "rolling coal" usually that means you have a turbo thats too big so it takes longer to spool or your tune is just all fuel and you haven't upgraded the turbo like you should to size it to the fuel you are putting down. Real cheap way to make a lot of power though :) :)

    I had a powerstroke and a cummins....I love diesels!

  4. the same people that say rap sucks because they rap about guns, sex, money and drugs..........will go to a rated R movie and watch the same exact shit except on film. How come you guys don't get upset and protest those violent movies? That's all rap is. It's just a story over a beat. It's also funny to me when i hear ROCK and COUNTRY songs doing the same thing but in a different way. I hate country music but i don't hate it because they told a story about sniffing coke, smoking a joint or riding off with another cowboy's lady. I just don't like it. It's not what i like to listen to. But if the content is what you are bitching about then 99% of those who complain are hypocrites. :) sorry but it's true.

It's like saying "i can't stand rap talking about murdering, killing and robbing" but then they go watch their favorite actor mow down 100 people with a machine gun. I just don't get why you can't say you "just don't like it" for what it is instead of blaming the lyrics which like i said is a STORY. Hell i think most rappers must be HIGHLY intelligent. They tell the story so good you believe it enough to get pissed off about it. LOL SMH

yea I don't really understand that either. Music tells a story in all forms, rap/country/rock/classical/jazz. And if you listen to certain rappers they're doing some really intricate things with what they are saying. A word can have two or three meanings in a verse. Not to over analyze but rap is not one dimensional.

....well except dubstep, only story that shit could tell is two computers fucking and a retard looking at them drooling yelling drop the bass.

  5. lets see it go in reverse, work in the rain, turn a corner, maintain a topspeed for more than a minute

    road legal or gtfo

Don't get me wrong, Top Fuel is the complete opposite of practical, or even useful other than 1/4mi straight lines...it's just the insane physics that make it more impressive to me.

And if we're stacking supercars up against each other...the Hennessy Venom GT

    Hennessey+Venom+GT2+engine.jpg

Except for hennessy is a piece of shit con artist and if you ordered one of those you might not get it but your money will be gone for sure.

actually didn't know that...yea arrington performance wasn't great to me either. Its hard to find good performance shops anymore, most of the time you get screwed a couple times and thats how you figure it out though....

Guess I'll have to go with Factory Five instead. :) (Ahhahaha didn't even see the segway in the background)

  6. lets see it go in reverse, work in the rain, turn a corner, maintain a topspeed for more than a minute

    road legal or gtfo

Alright first of all, they can work in the rain, They do go in reverse EVERY run and they turn the corner at the end of the track every run.

Also if you want all those things you want a nascar or sprint car. http://www.onedirt.com/news/keith-robinsons-street-legal-usac-sprint-car/

And the bugatti you can do top speed for less then a minute and you'll have no fuel and need new tires after you do it, just like a top fuel car. Either way you're fucked, race car or "supercar".

Also go American shit, have some pride in your hometown boys WHICH! are around the corner from you lucky fuckers in Texas...or at least closer then I am in Virigina.

  7. Id like to see that test with a variety of vehicles. The damage is amazing.

yea, I'd like to see a race car with a full cage too.

At that point the cage is irrelevant even if the car rramined perfect at a crash force of 400g's youre not going to live.

yea I was watching a couple of documentaries on formula 1 and a lot of driver safety is actually track prep, not so much the car. Even though the cockpit config is important. Things like the HANS device help but ultimately its the barriers that are the most important and angle of attack...

  8. At topspeed the bugatti engine uses more air in 1 minute, than we breathe in 5days

Top Fuel. Also fucka bugatti ;)

    * One dragster's 500-inch Hemi makes more horsepower then the first 8 rows at Daytona.

    * Under full throttle, a dragster engine consumes 1 1/2 gallons of nitro per second, the same rate of fuel consumption as a fully loaded 747 but with 4 times the energy volume.

    * The supercharger takes more power to drive than a stock hemi makes.

    * Even with nearly 3000 CFM of air being rammed in by the supercharger on overdrive, the fuel mixture is compressed into nearly-solid form before ignition. Cylinders run on the verge of hydraulic lock.

    * Dual magnetos apply 44 amps to each spark plug. This is the output of an arc welder in each cylinder.

    * At stoichiometric (exact) 1.7:1 air/fuel mixture (for nitro), the flame front of nitromethane measures 7050 degrees F.

    * Nitromethane burns yellow. The spectacular white flame seen above the stacks at night is raw burning hydrogen, dissociated from atmospheric water vapor by the searing exhaust gases.

  9. Been posting on the rest of the forum but haven't made it over here yet. Hopefully I haven't pissed off too many people yet :D

My names Ed, I'm in Virginia, heard about SMD on youtube after looking up some other audio stuff. Decided to check it out and have had fun so far.

I have been into audio since my first car, been about 14 years now learning and building. I have put in a bunch of setups in my and my friends cars but kinda started moving out of that and into home audio, worked some retail jobs to pay for my current home audio setup and finally built my first home audio speakers 2 years ago.

bought a 2008 dodge magnum and just got a 3way front stage, a 15" Stereo Integrity and am starting the build now.
