  1. I'm currently trying to parallel two psus and the 12v rails together to power my amplifier. However, I am not sure if the psus will fight with each other trying to overpower or something. (one psu does 11.94v, the other does a 12.04v but are same psus) I really need to know so I don't fry my psus again. One psu right now is giving me enough power to get my amp to output around 300 watts rms which really isn't enough.
  2. Rofl when you showed me that on msn, I quickly saw the bike.. looks like i got good eyesight but bad hearing!
  3. that's big for a first system imo. my first system in my room, a p2 sub and a infinity 312 watt rms amp L0L and I'm going "bigger" with two 12" premiers.. I'm embarassed.
  4. cool, do youu have any videos of it playing? Sounds like its awesome. I think I'll be doing 35hz. 3.5cu/ft slot ported box. how much would 3/4" mdf cost around for that size?
  5. cool, nah it's not for ht..just want to bump music in my room =D
  6. I'm going to build a 3.5cu/ft box for two Premier TS-W1207D2 12's for my bedroom.. and I have no idea if I should do ported or sealed. If ported, it will be tuned to 35hz. But I hear that sealed has better lows in a room or something like that. Those premiers are SORT OF SPL subs I think. I just need to know which type of box would be good for them in a bedroom.
  7. Oh, mine is a budget system.. I'll just leave it with 6 12v rails from 3 psus..104Amperes and hope there isn't a lot of voltage drop. Even if I drop to 11.2 volts, I'll still get around 744 watts rms.
  8. BTW Sorry for sort-of double posting..
  9. So when I turn it on, the subs should be playing right away to give it a voltage drop lol? So if it idles at 17v, it'll just blow right?
  10. LOl no it gives out what it's rated. This is CEA-2006 Compliant. So if I do the 15.3v mod then it will probably drop down to 13~ so I'd be getting near 900 watts rms.
  11. http://sonicelectronix.com/item_7013_Sony+XM-D9001GTR.html Sony XMD9001GTR Do you think that amplifier would take 17volts? I'm planning to use 3 psus but for now I have two as the other two shorted out. Some people told me I should series - parallel the -12v + 3.3v or 5v together to make 15.3v/17v the 3.3v gives out 28A and the 5v gives out 30A. So when I wire both psu's together, I'm hoping to get 15.3v - 56A / 17v - 60A. Lol please help.. I don't even fukin know how to series - parallel psu's together.
  12. To me it looked like it only hit the side of the truck.. lol thats just "what I see"
  13. yeah I know I just lost $50 because I need to get another pair enough to get a $149.99 psu lol
  14. 12volt is the yellow. the remote is the green wire. So I tried connect the green to the ground to short the psu safely and turn it on. It worked when the psu was unmodified. But after I cut all the unnessary wires, it just dies.
  15. Well yeah but I found out that if you use all the positive and ground wires, it will help stabelize the voltage a bit better. I will get fuses for each positive on the psu's.
  16. I bought three new 350 watt Fortron FSP power supplies to power a car amplifier in my bedroom. I was going to cut every single wire on the psu except for the green, red, black and yellow. So I did and I think I left a few strands of wire from the brown wire touching some other part in the psu. Hot glued the other exposing wires to prevent shorts. Plugged it in, turned it on. The psu fan moves 1 cm and the power supply just shuts off. I kept on looking in the psu to find if something was shorting it out, but nothing. I then did the same to my second psu, this time, much more carefully making sure not a single wire is touching any other parts. But it failed too but the fan moved for two seconds. Ahh about $75 down the tubes.. help please? But if I do need to get two new ones I can probably get it off my friend's dad for $50 new. Btw I'm new to this so
  17. Juno
