am i under powering my subs if i have 2 4 ohm 800 w rms subs connecting to a 850 w rms amp?

i can never tell if Gunnem is serious or not.

i'm not sure you read the article. under powering isn't bad. otherwise you would be at risk of blowing subs when you turn your volume down.
Compensating for the lack of power IS bad. which is what the article you posted states as well.
Like I said, I can never tell if you are serious or not.

Set your gains correctly. Thats all. I ran a Hifonics 1600 on 2 HDC4s for months while I was waiting on my amp to get fixed, it was nowhere near as loud as my regular amp but no harm to subs at all.
