how i spent my weekend. pedal went flat and i had to limp it home with no clutch pedal. thought it was my self adjuster, replaced the quadrant and clutch cable cause i broke the stock quadrant trying to fix it lol. clutch was still stuck, so i dropped the trans last week and the clutch fork pivot walked out and my clutch fork was stuck under it. this was a warranty trans from some rebuilders and they didnt thread lock it. it made it like 9 months before this happened. so i threw a clutch kit and flywheel on it while it was out.

There is nothing more satisfying than doing the work yourself. Those jack stands look scary, be safe!

The diesel nozzle itself is larger than an unleaded filler neck will take. It won't fit but some idiot try it anyway.

I really doubt it's a big issue, except the few crying because they can't figure out how to pump gas. Even my 12 year old knows how, just watching me do it.

I was thinking the same thing. Cars built after 1975 don't have an opening big enough because the old leaded nozzle was big. I think the bigger problem is people putting gasoline in a diesel. Now New Jersey is the last state where you can't pump your gas.

  3. When I was 15 McDonald's was my first job. I made $3.25 / hr. When I turned 16, I left there and went to a grocery store for $3.50 / hr. Guess how much a big mac would cost if the wages were $15? The company won't give up profits and why should they? Would they get $15 worth of work done? The job will have to change so maybe now one person has to do the work of two etc. When corporate taxes were high, it was beneficial to give higher benefits instead of paying more tax. Import tariffs leveled the playing field and the jobs stayed in the us. Now days the foreign economy is booming at our expense. I dirges, when $15 becomes the norm then how long will it be before they demand $20? They only skill they will have to better themselves is to demand more?

  4. Although I don't have much to add, I am curious as to what your resting voltage is when sitting overnight at low temperature with the truck off? As long as the batteries are charged, they shouldn't freeze. But with the high initial voltage, it makes me think that the amperage is near zero until the electrolyte "gets going". Almost like the higher voltage is the alternators unloaded voltage. As long as the battery cases don't start to bulge from excessive electrolyte outlasting, then I would say you are ok. Block heater on a gasoline motor? Yeah that's cold. I am not sure at what point a battery heater is needed.

The first time I heard this was last night. My son was playing it on his phone while he was washing the dishes. I couldn't believe what I was hearing, and I made him turn it off about half way through the first part. "But so and so sent it to me!"  "I don't care, we don't need that kind of hate in this house." I didn't know what it was at the time and I am glad that I saw the whole thing. I do know that hate is learned by things that are said and done even small things on a subconscious level. Dialog like this is part of the first tiny steps that need to happen in order to make change happen. The government can't fix this, it has to come by changing one mind at a time in every member of society. There will always be problems no matter what the government does, it is in a catch 22. The politicians always want to make things better in order to get the votes from the people it helps. It used to be that being a politician was an unpaid position and people did it because it was their civic duty. Without turning this into a political debate, I am just going to stop here.

thanks bud. drives nearly like stock. Having clutch issues with the ls7 clutch kit and the stock master cylinder, inadequate pressure at high RPM's to get me out of gear and back in. Have to shift it really slow :(

for anyone curious, it's a stock ls6 with a btr stage 3 cam and supporting valvetrain, chinese long tubes, 2.5" x pipe, and a garbge k&n cai. first pull netted 417, second was 439, third was 458 @ 80% duty cycle. Last pull being 459 @ 90% duty cycle of injectors. so out of fuel on the supply side.

Awesome power for a street car. The slow shift problems used to happen to the 5.0 guys back in the day. Something about the synchros are not made for high RPM. Maybe a different tranny fluid or an additive might help?

Oh i know how a 12v system works I did take 3 years of electronics in High school hands on and some in college and also worked on cars in college an always got A's to B's in each class.

But oh well enough dealing with ppl who have probably not even lived as long as ive been into electronics!

You should call the dealership and see if your truck has a 14v battery.

maybe, just maybe, she used to daily drive a classic with the tank behind the license plate.

probs not cause if she was that cool, she wouldnt get caught dead in an 02 Hyundai

My mom had a 1970 Pontiac Grand Prix in the 70s when I was a kid. They still had full service gas stations and one attendant would pump the gas another one would wash the windows, and a third one would talk to the driver. The filler was behind the license plate. I remember my dad complaining that when the tank was full and she stepped on it hard, gas would leak out the cap vent. Lol
