  1. I would throw a RF T2000.1 on them and call it a day.
Agree of a sundown 1500.1 anytime. But i like the RF2000.1 option
    RF T2000

Im running my 2 L7s on a T20001bd at 2 ohms with no problems, however I did have to get a ho alt and do the big 3 after installing it due to voltage issues. If you have the electrical, the right enclosure, and a clean signal, you can wang them all day long on that amp. G/L :)

  2. Aight I think its safe to say we all get a chill when we hear a bad sounding system....but I wanna hear what other sounds you cant stand; nails on chalkboard, hands on surrandwrap, etc. Ill start it off....

If you've ever had teeth pulled, you know this sound. Its literally like hearing someone rip a phonebook in half, but you know its coming from the dentist pullin on your face!....theres that and metal utensils scraping together....cant take that either!

  3. -dirty signals can come from music, the headunit or the gains of the amplifier

Amen! I was quite suprised to find that my deck started clipping at 60% volume. Good write up.

    SOOOOOO I got a question

I have a Rf T3000 and 18"BTL with all the options and dual 2ohm coils wired in Parralel. I followed the amplifier gain tutorial and set the maximum voltage @ 61.7 Roughly 3700 watts.I set this with the HZ @ 50 and the Bass knob ALL the way up with the deck volume on 3/4,Playing a 60Hz Test Tone. How would I know if my speaker is clipping if the BTLs are known to handle more than 3k (Best example Steves Tahoe) and im right on the money when i set the voltage/gain comin from my amp?

Hey i cant really answer your question but Im sure youre supposed to have the bass knob all the way down when you set the voltage. Thats how i set my T2K1. The bass knob is a little over halfway up, any more and it is clipping.

  4. It may help grounding your rca's to your deck, but Im highly doubtful that will solve the problem. The grounding of the Rca's is a fix for the pioneers.

I see you have a alpine headunit. I know on some of the alpine units, they start to clip the rca outputs at around volume 27-29.

One thing id try would be to raise your amp gains up a tad, and then play your radio at a lower volume. Resulting in the same output but just at a lower volume on your headunit.

Then you will know for sure if it was your signal being clipped before if it dont do it with a higher gain setting to compensate the lower volume setting on the headunit. If you follow me.

I never turn my alpine up beyond 26 most of the time, and it goes to 35.

My alpine deck goes from 0 - 35, clips at 23 (tested with scope).....i thought it was weird because it was far fron the 75% everyone else talked about when setting gains....ended up doing the same thing audiofanaticz said, upped the gains to compensate, no problems now.
