  1. Ah. I was asking about the lpf & hpf setting in the HU because with my subs, I have the Amp filters open and have the HU filter 80hz instead at the lpf. I can set them individually subs, front, rear. The HU can get pretty complicated
  2. Thanks for the explanation. I may have tuned to 40hz but since I'm so used to 50hz with a DMM I think I just said that. I only used the o-scope once. Can I test these clipping points off the RCA ends if I wanted to install on my HU and put everything back together or is it better to do at the source? Can I open the filters to fully open and set the filters on the HU itself? And if so, do I set them before or after tuning up the Amp gains. Do I need to retune my sub Amp after installing my speakers Amp and why(just trying to learn, not questioning your intent)?
  3. Not ported. Mmats m1400.1 Amp and mmats 12" procast x2. It's a sealed enclosure built to whatever the subs require. I've got it tuned at 50hz I think -5db. My other question is, I tuned my subs at 27/50 or whatever my head unit goes up to because that's where my speakers distorted (to my ears anyways). How do I set the highs/mids now? And will I need to retune my subs? I like them to hit a hard as they can but I assume if I set the subs to hit their max at say 15, I can't play the speakers any louder without turning the gain down in my hu
  4. Hey guys. I've installed many subs, amps, speakers and head units but never a 4 channel Amp and to speakers at that. I plan to tune with my oscilloscope, but at what frequency? Also, do I set HPF, LPF, SUBSONIC, crossover in head units or on Amp, and to what setting? My front coaxial have a passive crossover. I'm going to be running my fronts coaxial unless there's a better way to do this on a 4 channel Amp with 4 speakers and two tweeters? Here's my speakers https://powerbassusa.com/products/mobile-audio/2xl-63c-65-system/ https://powerbassusa.com/products/mobile-audio/2xl-693-6x9-full-range/
  5. Hey guys. I've never amped mids and highs in my vehicles before. It's always been install subs, done. My question is, how do I tune the amp once installed? My front are https://powerbassusa.com/products/mobile-audio/2xl-63c-65-system/ and rears are https://powerbassusa.com/products/mobile-audio/2xl-693-6x9-full-range/ . The front speakers will be a coaxial setup unless you think there's a better way to do it. I have an o-scope i used for setting up the amp for my subs, but i'm not TOO familiar with it yet, but can take direction and do understand what i'm looking at. Just not great with it yet... i also don't know what test tone to use and how to setup head unit before tuning and also after. Can anybody guide me through please?
  6. I was imagining one rca set per speaker but one plug left, one plug right... I feel stupid 🤣 thanks for your help
  7. Oh, it does. I'm stupid... once you drew it and i pictured it it made sense. One channel per speaker... thanks!
  8. The head unit has sub, front, rear. But the Amp has input for each channel so I assumed it would need 4 rca. Do the 4 channel RCA have 4 plugs to Amp and two to head unit? Or is it 4 and 4? Just trying to picture the setup lol
  9. I was going to buy knu conceptz wiring as that's pretty much All I buy. My question is, if I have one front and one rear input on my head unit, how do I hook up all 4 channels (with 4 sets of rca) to only two inputs for two rca. I'll be hooking up front speakers to one channel each, rears to one channel each. 4 speakers, 4 channels, 2 inputs on head unit. Lol
  10. Hey guys, i just got the https://www.skaraudio.com/products/skv2-100-4ab-four-channel-car-amplifier and my head unit is https://www.kenwood.com/usa/car/excelon/dnx995s/ . The head unit has front and rear speaker inputs for separate amps. The speakers are https://powerbassusa.com/products/mobile-audio/2xl-63c-65-system/ and https://powerbassusa.com/products/mobile-audio/2xl-693-6x9-full-range/ currently running off head unit power. I've only really installed monoblock amps so one input is pretty easy... How do i hook up one 4 channel amp to front and rear inputs to run all 4 speakers? I want to run each speaker on it's own channel.
