Amp is a sae 3000d, two d4 sa15 sealed box ... got a smd dd1 . Would -10db be good? I read sealed needs more power . Right now I'm at -8.8 db and sounds like they could definitely take more idk.
-
So after testing and setting with the dd1 how many people actually play music up to your head unit max distortion level? I'm set and have set several systems and rarely get that high say 27 to 29 out of 34 tested clean with dd1. Maybe with some music you can get to the max volume but with hip hop most cant. What's your results?
-
Tuning is done my head unit max volume is 39 out of 40. How many people actually turn the volume up to the max volume on the regular? Would most be content with say 27 to 35 ? Sub amp is a sundown 3k on 2 sa15 d4 . Tuned at -8.1db for 2k with load . The highs is rockford T2652-S components with one extra set of RF tweeters bridged on a sundown 50.4 -2.5db tune.. subs seem to be taking anything i give them up to volume 39 but the tweeters sound like they breaking up a little at 39 on a few tracks.
-
Hope this doesn't sound like a VS thread but I currently have the rockford T2652-S and basically want the sundown equivalent I just like to match up brands.
-
Hows the sd components? Would they keep up with to sundown sa15's ok? The amp the components would be on would give them 100 watts each side .

I havent heard of a new sa set coming. But there is an ns series being designed now
The sa v2 components sold out online everywhere was told v3 coming asap.
-
So with a new version of the sa components coming some time soon would it be worth waiting for or go with sd components? Amp is a RF 300x2 that's what I'm working with power wise
-
The box specs sundown list say 1.75 for a sa 12 is that already calculating sub displacement?

i run my at 80 but 5 is fine if you have good midbass to fill in the gap
I just went out to try it out.. started at 50hz where I have had it went to 63hz not bad could maybe pick up a little more punch but when I did 80 hz no good. It was like it was working my amp harder. My voltage was dropping big time.
-
Everything in and playing. Been going eazy on the subs for a while.. what's most set lpf to? Right now I have lpf at 50hz.

Iwas unaware of a v3. I know theyre working on the ns comps now
I was just thinking out loud maybe a v3 possibly. I dont see the sa components available now. Discontinued?
-
Any one know when a new sa component set will be available? And any info on them?
-
Well was ready to install the sa's today but cut out for the p3's being a little smaller hindered that. The only thing I have is a drum sander that I can attach to my drill . Would that be ok to use ? The box is birtch not sure what grit would be best.

I did use polyfill, I called Sundown and each sub had its own chamber so like 3 separate boxes , that’s what they recommended.
Good to know ... thanks for the help man. I'm going to get some in the am . As far as I know rule on poly fil is about a pound per cube so I'll try that.

Sealed boxes are very Punchy but never had an issue with lows , I would just try sealed and if you don’t like it build a new box but I’m pretty sure if you have sealed now you’ll be fine with these subs sealed. I went with 3 10’s sealed to compensate for 2 ported 10’s. I also built a ported box for 2 10’s and it was very close to the same sound as the sealed but not as punchy though. I really liked the sealed sound. If U have room for ported I would go that route.
With your 10's where they at spec to sundown sealed spec ? Did you use poly fil or anything in the box?

There’s a few 18s that can be in a 5 cubed sealed box could always look into that lol
I'm at 5.34 cube total net for two subs 2.5 each

Ran 3 SA-10’s sealed for 3yrs on 3k and shit pounded. I was very happy with the subs would do it again any time.
How did the 10's do on low bass? I'm kinda curious to see how the 15's do on it.
-
Well got the sa's really want to use in a ported enclosure. Just small ass car no worries about giving up back seat just wanna go be enough box to be efficient without really going over 2k on power if I can.. might still try them out sealed though.

If you are changin because you think you will be louder I wouldn’t bother...
The p3's on 1200 watts the sa's would be on 2000 watts.

Uhhhh ok? So do 2 12s ported then or one higher powered 15 ported then if you want low end
I guess my question is more still do the SA's just not do good sealed? Is there a absolute much I must do ported?

Were the P3 15s sealed? You might be suprised at the output of two SA12s ported instead of 15s sealed
Yes they are sealed, really dont wanna change boxes. I'm personally after low end more then after spl numbers.
-
So how do the SA line of subs do in a sealed box? I'm currently running two rockford P3 15's and looking to go to sundown. No space to do the 15's ported my current box is 2.5 cube per sub.
Best sundown amp for two sa15's
in Sundown Audio - GREAT Amps/Subs! GREAT Customer Service!

So with two sa15's d4 what would be the best sundown amp to run? I know I keep hearing they can take more then 750 especially being they will be in a sealed box.
