Jl 600/4hd that I bought in late 2018 I still have it. I’m new to this.

I was going to make a new thread but I figure I can use this one. I have a dd1+ today I was using it on my kenwood. I used track 1 it starts to distort at 39/40 so I left it at 38 now I connect it and tried to find the max volume on the three.2 now if I turn up the head unit all the way it won’t distort like before. Is this normal? I have the eq on the deck and thee.2 on flat. Also it won’t distort if I set the left or right gain on the 3.2 all the way up it won’t read distort on the dd1+ but it will throw the maximized light on the 3.2 so I adjusted to where the maximized light don’t turn on at 38 on the deck but it already sounds way better. Before I could only go to 1/4 on the 3.2 volume knob and 21 on the deck. im a newbie on audio but eager to learn.
