  1. I really liked my Bl, so how about a BTL? I was also looking at the Mach 5 SPL sub maybe.. I would rather not buy used.. I've heard an Omega 18 and was VERY impressed at how loud it got, so the Omega is pretty high on my list. Anyone else have insight on what they think i should try, to get louder with?
  2. As of now the amp i have is fine. I'm more worried about upgrading to a DC power alternator soon (probably around christmas time) before i even think about getting a bigger amp. I know the DP will take more power, but i'm ready to try something different. The reason i'm stuck on a 12 is because of the custom fiberglass box i made a few months ago that still serves it's purpose, therefore there's no reason to spend a lot more money and time for something different. If anything i would build a simple center console box and put a 15 in my truck, but as of now i'm not really looking forward to getting rid of that center seat. I was think about maybe 2 10's behind the seats if anything, because there isn't enough room to do a nice ported box, and still be able to fold up the center console, unless somebody has box plans for a 99 Dodge regular cab. And on a side note, how much is a LV4 XL 12?
  3. My current setup is an IA DP 12 running off about 1300 watts. It's in an all fiberglass box behind the seats in my Dodge, which is about 2.6 cubes with a 6" aero port tuned to around 36 hz.. I'm looking to get rid of the DP and try something differnet for a while. The DP has served it's purpose (pulled a 140 flat from it), but i would like something a little louder. My bday is quickly coming up so i'll have about 400 to spend. What would be a good sub to integrate into my setup now? I was looking at either the Omega 12, or possibly an HDC3 12. I haven't called on pricing of somethin like a DC LV4XL, or a DD 9512, or anything along those lines. I just wants people opinions that have heard a variety of subs, and give me something good to pick from. I'm open to any suggestions.. I had a Fi Bl in the same box for a while running off only 750 and was very impressed with it, so i might be considering a BTL this time around.. Any and all suggestions are welcome though..
  4. What he said.. These are called Sweet Dreams and are the size of the really cheap artillery shells, but def have a little more punch than the cheap ones..
  5. The title is just to grab peoples attention mainly. It's good for 1 12 in a regular cab. My camera is a Sony Cybershot W290. It's 12.1 megapixels, and takes 720p hi def videos.. Steal of a camera at $225..
  6. Just a little video i shot before work.. All ready to go to Finals.. To really see whats goin on follow this link so the screen shot is bigger.. OR name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350">Had to represent the Braums cup.. haha.
  7. Had a Bl 12 running off ~750 watts in a 2.2 cube box with a 3 inch aero port, all put behind the seats of a 99 dodge 1500 in a custom box i made. Did a 136.8 which was the highest i ever got. Now i've got an all fiberglass box (about 2.5 cubes with a 6 inch aero tuned to 36 hz) with a IA DP 12 running off ~1500 watts hitting 140.. But both my boxes were behind the seats, not center console. If i really wanted to go that extreme i woulda put a 15 in the center..
  8. Sorry, i forgot the mention that the CD player is crapping out so a new headunit is a must. I can't seek through tracks or else the laser will get lost and won't be able to find any songs at all..
  9. Ok. Thanks guys. I'll prob tune at 32, because of the characteristics of a blowthrough design, it will have the tendency of hitting loud on lower notes. Also: i want to get a nice headunit for around 150-170. But my quesiton is, will the Monsoon system make me have to get a high dollar wiring kit to integrate the aftermarket headunit to the stock amp? Or wil the wiring kit be the typical $30 or whatever?
  10. My sister in law has a 2004 grand prix GTP (Competition group). It has the Monsoon system already in it, but the 2 by9's in the rear deck just don't cut it for me and i've got her convinced to put a substage in.. She doesn't want it to be very loud.. Well here's the deal: i'm doing this as an anniversary present for her so i'm buying everything. The plan so far is going to be 4 of these (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9312_P...Ryval+V10S.html) powered by one of these (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_18870_...ASA-400.2X.html) in a blowthrough style box that's sealed off from the trunk and fires into the cab. What i mean by blowthrough style is like a clamshell layed on its side in a "V" formation with 2 subs on each side. What is your guys opinion on this low budget system? And before anyone says anything, I'm not gonna "save more money for better equipment". this isn't made to get loud, even though i'm pretty sure it has the potention to.. I just want opinions on box layout, tuning frequency of the box, etc.....
  11. Thanks everyone. I really like this setup so far and it's plenty loud for me. This thing moves quite a bit of air for a regular cab and shakes the hell outta everything in me truck on the low notes. Haha.. I was orginially thinking about making a center console to get louder than my old setup, but i still wanted use of me center seat and still be able to fold it up, which i still can. So i squeezed in as big a box as i could behind my seat, and this is what the final product is..
  12. yes, yes it is.. haha.. isn't very fun to put in the box by myself, even with all the seats out (only way to get the sub out anyway.. haha..). i love it tho.. and here's a link to the videos of the artillery shells that are laying in my seat in the flex video.. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=49164
  13. here's a couple of videos for y'all that were asking about the artillery shells in the video of my truck. name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350">
  14. Almost forgot about them.. Uploading videos right now.. you will likey..
  15. Almost no vibration from the box where the amps are mounted, and since the DP pushes A TON of air, it keeps the amps nice and cool.. haha..
  16. And this is my old Fi Bl 12 against the DP.. And i thought the Bl was huge when i first got it.. haha..
  17. Here's a little overview of the system in the truck incase you guys don't already know.. And this is in a 99 Dodge ram 1500 Sub is in the back ground. Azz shot.. If you look through the basket you can see the reason i had to recone it.. haha.. My DP compared to an Omega 18.. The DP is actually heavier than the Omega, and it's only a 12.. And a pic of it in the truck...
  18. Just a short video of what this little sub can do.. I just reconed it and it's barely even broken in yet, but it pounds like no other.. The box is roughly 2.5 cubes with a 6 inch aero tuned to 34 hz.. Amp is a powerbass ASA 1500.1 and the sub is of course a 12 inch DP d2.. I'm going to get it metered this friday, so i'll post results after i get back from the comp hopefully.. On a side note, me new camera (sony cybershot W290) does very well at not distorting, but just because you can't really hear the bass at all, i'm thinking i'm hitting close to a 141 or 142.. we'll know friday i gues.. haha. On to the vid.. And p.s. watch in HD for full effect.. name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350">
  19. And won't you don't see unless you look really hard is besides the 9 lining the back glass, there are another 20 in between the front of the bed and the cab. They've helped out a lot in flex.
  20. Actually the carpet is cut back about 1/8" back from the port on all sides. It's just that it moves so much air the carpet still flaps even though it's not in the port. And btw, this isn't my truck. I built the box and helped with the entire install, but it's not mine. This kid is actually going to Florida in a couple days so hopefully he'll be able to go to a few comps down there because I would really like to know what it meters. Compared to the last system with 2 18's walled off that did close to a 148, I would say this one does about a 146-147.
  21. That's actually flooring carpet like you would put in your house. We both work at a carpet store (where we are parked in front of) and we had it in stock so he said what the hell. Haha. And I got the idea from I think it was the "RE XXX truck" with 8 12's. Before the balls were put in, the front of the bed was smacking the tool box so much that the spray on bed liner seperated from the front of the bed. And the cab was coming about half an inch from the bed when it was flexing pretty good. And of course it's always an attention getter at shows.
  22. Thought y'all might like this. One "stock" 1000 cranking amp battery up front, this ---> http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_17903_...EN+SK-BT60.html in the back, and a 200 amp Powermaster alt. And it never gets below 14 volts at the amp full tilt. Equipment is: Sub: Omega 18 d1 Amp: Hifonics bxi2608 wired at 2 ohms All 1/0 wire Powermaster 200 amp alternator (100 at idle) And a ton of other stuff. Box is 6.2 cubes tuned to 32 hz with 70 sq inches of port.
  23. If your talking about my build, thanks. I have gotten a lot of comments on how well it matches my trucks interior (which was pretty much my main objective). It took probably 5 days (at school) to build and carpet the box. And this was only my second box I had made. I'm kinda the kid everyone calls on at my school when they want a box built (pretty good money when your using the schools tools). And just to show y'all, here's the build I'm working on right now. It's pretty much done except for beefing up the center bracing. And btw, I'm only 17.
  24. Here's my setup. Fi Bl 12 running off about 800 watts (2 ohms). Amp is a Powerbass ASA1500.1. Rockford T1 6x9's and 5 1/4's. Pioneer 690USD headunit. Currently hitting a 137 at 43hz. All this in a 99 Dodge 1500.
