  1. test box getting there the one rweason i didnt use carbboard was cause i also planned on putting the subs in this box to see hwo they sounded so i could see if i needed to make adjustments kill 2 birds with one stone , if this passed the hearing test ill go ahead and build the identical box out of the ply

    edit

dont have my areoport yet so a 10 inch sonotube is the standin for the test box

tommorow i think ill have it in so i can see if i need to make any changes for the real box , the rest of my amps get here tommorow as well 6x 1500watt amps to drive theese 3 12's

  2. so i had to shrink the box slightly  from 6.3 net to 5.9cft net , still models very well though

im either going to fire the subs into the cabin or to the back of the trunk  port is out the side due to port lenght  port works out to be 10inch x 24 , though i do need to recalculate port lenght now that volume has changed . this was always a long term project ive got so much to do still , tons of fiberglass work on the door panels full sound deadning , more wiring , more amps to install , i work alot so time is limited maybe by the end of summer ill have this wrapped up 100%

this is the aboslute biggest box u can put in the back of a nissan sentra lol atleast that is removable and or lets u still acess the spare tire , as i know i can get an 8 cft net box in there

  3. bought a hseet of osb along witht he ply to build the box , got the osb so i could mock up the box i speced to make sure it fit and didnt need to be changed without having to cut up the expensive wood first i have to slightly adjust the height and depth to be able to get the box in and out of the trunk but yup i should have those 3x 12's in the car soon

  4. as much as i really wanted to swap to 4 12's its not possible , the box i came up with pysically fits but it has to be built in the trunk , im not going threw all that , so i ended up ordering 3 12's to go in the car and designed a 6.3net cf box that i can get in and out of the trunk of the car the only thing i may change is the port but for now i think im going to stick with the single 10 inch areo port . the 6.3 will be true even after bracing as i just calculated in extra sub displament to make up for the bracing

Cool build.  Just curious what are the plans for back seat area just amps or do you have other plans?

amps lithium banks and mids in highs theres a whole back section to that amp rack thats going to go with the bottom section thats im going to do a bunch of stuff with its going to cover the factory trunk to cabin opening im going to build a octagon or oval opening into it  and the mids in highs will go down the sides its hard to explain will make more sense once i get to that part and start building it , its just starting to get warm enough here now i can start doing all the sound deadner and fiberglass work , i also ordered 4x bad ass 12's that will eventually make there way into this build , i finially figured out how to get a 8.2 cf net box into the trunk of this thing

parts came for my monster 8 test build still cant decide which cone i want to use the tall roll or the mega roll cone

I guess you like the difficult route, I would get a couple of stock DC audio level 5 12 and a 8K amplifier and that would get crazy loud and pretty simple and fast to get done.

i like the project part of the build and the journey of getting there , i ve already designed a 9cft box for four 12's that fits in this car but that will be a long way off

  7. started mocking up my amp rack , this rack has 3 layers what u see is the middle layer , the bottom layer will have all the power/ground wires distro , basically all the wiring , the wiring will come up threw the layer u see directly into the amps. and then the middle layer is getting 4 inch high sides all around so i can put a lid on it , the lid is going to have a 18 x 48 " piece of 1/4 lexan in it so u can see all the amps , all in total there will be 6 amps across that rack 4x 1500w monos and 2x 4 chan amps , i jhad to wrap it up for the day so i just wired all that stuff up so i could still have my music when going back and forth to work for the time being prolly be another 2 weeks before i have enough time off to work on it again

  8. tore out the seats n stuff from the back of the car today and got the box painted and reinstalled think im going to put the subs facing the back of the trunk again because my slot port is on the face of the box and now its kind of firing directly into the rear wall there . as far as the amps i was thinking originally i was going to do the 4x 1200.1's across the bottom and the 2x 600.4's on a dual angled floating amp rack in the opening to the trunk. but now im thinking about putting the one 600.4  in the middle of the 1200.1's which would look cool when i put the lid on the amp rack with the lexan windows over each amp , and then finally put the last 600.4 in the trunk opening on an angled floating rack

  9.

not to bad for cheap speakers for the door panels for now ( friend gave it all to me ) but the 6.5's are being replaced with recoil audio stuff , keeping the dayton audio 8's , but hell dont sound to bad for sending full range signals threw all of it , just need to add some tweeters and then i can start the fiber glass work . all 4 doors will have this same setup

How did you mount your amp rack in the seat bottoms? I'm doing 4 DC Audio Level 1 12s in my 01 Sentra GXE and I'm stumped about where to put my amp rack.

sorry been super busy with work havent been on at all , im completely removing the rear seats , amp rack is being build into were the seat bottoms would normally be . right now amps are just mounted to a board in the trunk behind the box

i have goten some more stuff done on my last day off mainly just running the new 1/0 cable and installing a second red 1200.1 so now i have them on 2 amps that do 900 rms at 2 ohms each amp is running a pair of the 8's wired at 2 ohms instead of all 4 on a single amp at 1 ohm , @ 1 ohm those amps do 1250 certified and 1500 @ clipping.

i still need to clamp it with the 2 amps and see what im getting for actual power output , maybe tommorow since its my day off

    20230123_141203.jpg

  11. that single red1200.1 has my voltage dropping to 11.8 with headlights and blower motor on with the stock alt @ idle, ive found a 300 amp replacement finally that and the 96ah headway bank will solve that

and yes i have the big 3 done already all in 1/0

with each amp on a single sub at 1 ohm im counting on only seeing about 8-900w max with imp rise ,the gains will be backed off so they will only see about 750w rms

amps are overkill yes but there there for future upgrades

im building this in stages one of the last stages will be a big upgrade from those e8's  the 8's are just something i wanted to play with

Good build I’m just curious to why you chose 8’s when you clearly have room for bigger subs, not ripping you I’m running 4 8’s right now but only cause I have no room.

when i was younger i always did 12,s or 15's never messed with 10,s or 8,s just wanted to do something different this time around , the upgrade path is going to be 3 10's or 3 12's eventually though , that being said i think these 8's will keep me happy for a long time
