  1. Sorry for the broken messages and missing video. Not very computer savvy as well. I don't know how long of a video I can post, without it automatically not coming through.
  2. As I keep saying, I appreciate your guys' input. To answer your question of why I adjusted anything on the head unit, is because, as I've said before, I have no idea what I'm doing. I don't really know about adjustments I need to make, and where they should be. I set all my frequencies within the processor, to the spec frequencies of each speaker. When I got everything up and running, I noticed that when I adjusted the equalizer on the hu, it got crisper and cleaner. I thought it was odd, that I set my parameters within the DSP, and adjusting the eq, on the hu, made it sound better. Didn't understand it, but left it, because it sounded better. When I first started "trying" to adjust the DSP, I used the pink noise track, provided on the audio control website. Then I moved to actual music. Got a feeling I'm going to have to start all the way over, from the beginning. 71597378561__130D2FC5-437A-4347-AC12-19F6C7FA69F9.MOV
  3. I have a tablet that I'm currently using for the smart app. Battery died, so as soon as it charges, I'll post pics of where my settings are on it. And I'm sure you will clearly see, I have no clue of what I am doing.
  4. Man. I really appreciate your response. Because I really had no idea information like that was vital. As I said, I've never had a processor, and have no idea how they are supposed to be set up. I can provide as much information about the setup, as I possibly can. But some of your response, I don't know what it means. ie, "vac", "1vac". Not sure what that is. However, let's start with the head unit. I have a Kenwood excelon DMX 958XR. Settings on it, not sure what you mean. But EQ settings I have the bass almost all the way down, other than the subwoofer volume, and that is at 10, it's max level. Not even sure if I have the eq on the head unit to the right settings. It sounds decent. But I don't want decent. I want, "correct". Anything else, is factory settings. I am using JL audio RCA's to connect the RCA outputs from the head unit, to the processor. And as far as how I was" trying" to measure the output signal, was the dm smart app. I have the audio control RTA. Have no clue how to use it, so I haven't even gotten that far. The way I understood, was you have to set the setting within the app first, to get, I guess a base line. And then fine tune it with the RTA. The RCA's look messy right now, because I'm still trying to figure out what I'm doing. I hope this helps you, in understanding my situation, and allows for information to be provided to me, so I can actually use my setup, without fear of damaging components. Would also like to add, I have no idea what a lot of the technical terms mean, dealing with audio signal. I've watched videos of people trying to explain everything, and it just doesn't register in my mind, exactly what everything means. I don't know anything about crossover signals, DB octaves, drop off points, flat, curved, cheby she, if that's how you spell it, or whatever is called "Butterworth". I really appreciate your input, and time you're taking, to help me understand.
  5. I've reviewed the manual, and watched all the videos. My problem is, I don't really understand everything. I know the basics. I understand HOW it works. I just don't understand how to properly set my gains inside the processor. I've done installs before, but never with a processor. So this is new territory for me. And I'd rather LEARN what I'm doing, rather than handing it off to someone else, to complete. At that point, it becomes someone else's build. I take pride in the work I do. I'm s custom cabinet maker by trade. I have the tools to do everything, just don't know how to use the technical tools. (ie), audio control RTA, and such. And, yes, you bring a very valid point to the table of: expensive, and not very many people have them. However, this whole forum is based on expensive equipment, and the people who are on this forum, have great knowledge, and tips to help others. Unfortunately, I grew up with old school people who generously shared information, because they wanted others to learn what they knew, and go beyond. And in today's society, it feels like the attitude is: knowledge is to be sold, not to be told. I would love for people to get back to old school ways, and want to see their peers on the same, or higher level of skills, so more information and ideas can be brought to the forefront of audio installation and fabrication. Maybe a pipe dream, but would be nice, nonetheless. Appreciate your input.
  6. I recently installed a dm810. I have it up and running. However, I do not understand how to set gains. I've watched all the videos, and I still don't understand. I need a "dummbed down" explaination, as to how to set it up. Installed the firmware. I just can't seem to get the clipping indicator to light up. I've had my hu volume all the way up, input/output gains completely maxed, and still no clipping light. What am I doing wrong/or missing? Plz help.
