I wonder what the price tag for one of these puppies will be.
In onve of the videos they stated that it was $8700, yet its not for sale to the public. They're trying to get the big three to buy into the technology. I want to see it in a Suburban my self. Go figure right?
I also wonder how long does it take to fully charge the batteries after use? They never say how long you have to charge the system

1-2 Miles per gallon? who cares LOL
Shit I do. That's anywhere from $4-$8 dollars saved per trip.
-
Yup I agree. I think this is a bit too good to be true but I'll hold off full judgement till someone test this product out.
-
Some special catalytic converter that is suppose to increase your mileage. I call bull on this but if anyone out there is running this please share your thoughts.

I'm still struggling with a box design, so I've come up with two more designs. Let me know what you guys think. I'm still trying to work out the box tuning and what not. Both boxes have a port opening of 8 inches with a depth of around 13 inches.
Box 1
Box 2

I noticed that the Lvl5's are available in dual 1 or dual 2 ohm config's.....so do you have the option of getting dual 1 ohm lvl5 coils on the lvl4s? And is this something that has to be special ordered? As you can tell I don't know too much about them yet and there isn't a dealer within 3 states to interrogate lol...thx
Just request it. My lvl 4 subs have dual 1ohm lvl 5 coils.

Got done it's 55 and 77hz.
Ambient music makes it sound lower.
TIME TO CHOP AND SCREW!
Can you send me copy of it once you screw it?

Listen to this at least 10 times now. Beat is hella catchy. I just downloaded the song to. It's made by someone called PoJo.

Yes. Velcro works best.
I meant internal box bracing?
-
LIKE THIS!!!

SteelCityGhost,
With the divider between the two subs, would I still have to worry about bracing?
Drew,
Nice box design. I have to learn how to do those transparent effects in sketchup.

Ok here we go. This is my third redention of this box. This time I did dual ports on the side of the box. I had to adjust the depth just a bit from 24 to 25.5 inches. Let me know what you guys think. I've got Monday off and I want to get my build on
So my new numbers are 24H x 49W x 25.5D. Top and bottom are double 3/4 MDF while the front, back and sides are single 3/4 MDF.
The ports are 2.5W x24D x 10H.

So you're saying the design with the port in the middle is more efficient than my L-shaped design that I have?
I believe he was talking about my design with the port in the middle between the two subs.
-
The airspace for both subs is in the middle, meaning that the air pressure from each sub is cancelling out when it gets to the port. You honestly would have a better, more efficient box setup with ports on opposites sides. That box design alone is probably costing you 5-8db easy.
Thanks for the advise. I will try to come up with another design later on tonight.

How much did you pay for your subs? I emailed rusty but he's prolly bussy finishing lvl 5's.
You've got a PM

So I've done mockuups in sketchup. I'm still not quite sure about the port though. Let me know what you guys think.
-
Bump
I need the help.

Thanks for the reply. I sent an email to rusty last night. I hope he gets back to me soon cause I want to start building this box sometime this week.

Okay so I have to admit this was my first time using Google's SketchUp software and I'm hooked. By far way easy to do a drawing with rather than AutoCad. Anyway this is what I've come up with using the measurement that Wagonized over on SoundSolutionsAudio gave me. I made an adjustment with the port though. I brought the port up to the top, extended it's width by 4 inches to 24inches and decreased the height to 10 inches. Let me know what you think? Will this work?
-
Do the T/S on the level 4 subs change when you go with the level 5 coils?
-
Okay so I took some measurements today just to see how much space I have to work with. The idea is to keep my third row seats. That was the main reason why I brought a suburban instead of a tahoe. So far this is what I've came up with. *Note all measurements are external*
Height: 23 3/8 inches or 28 1/2 inches if I go up to top of headrest
Width: 49 inches
Depth: 28 3/4 inches
I went to 12volt.com to use their volume calculator and it came out to roughly 15 cft of internal volume space.
I want to go ported with the 18's and I want to go both subs and ports facing up as apposed to subs up and ports to the rear. You guys think this is do-able with the measurements I've posted?

Yup me too. I heard about him on Tempro and ROE back about 4 yrs ago. So like 04-05 when he had the dual 18's MT's and like 8 of those RF 1k amps.
