  1. Update (Pioneer is SOLD)

For sale I have used Pioneer AVH-P5700DVD flip out head unit that I pulled out of my truck about three weeks ago. Along with the radio I will include the following accessories along with the purchase of the radio:

Pioneer Premier CDX-P686 6 disc CD changer ( $75 if sold separately)

    http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/Accessories/CDChangers/CDX-P686

Pioneer CD-IB100II Ipod adapter ($30 if sold separately)

    http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Support/Portable+Audio/Ipod+Accessories/ci.CD-IB100II.Support

Specs for the AVH-P5700DVD ($325 if sold separately)

Everything works and has been tested. I'm looking to sell everything for $400 shipped! The price is totally negotiable within reason. Or I can sell it all in pieces if need be.

  2. Over the past few months i have noticed that my hearing has become much...different so to say. my ears start to hurt when someone is talking loudly or talking normally right next to me but my tweeters in my car dont even phase me. the carwash where i work has these ridiculous blowers that are so loud you have to shout to a person right next to you to talk to them. for the first few months at work i didnt wear ear plugs (ouch) and i was right next to the fan's blowing air (i always wear plugs now). i think that period of not wearing plugs has affected my hearing quite bad. sometimes i cant even understand what some people say on the phone or even right next to me so i say "what?". even ask Lem, i was on the phone with him the other day and i had to have him repeat a few things. most of my friends also say that my woofers are quite loud but to me i barely feel anything and what i hear at full tilt is the rattles of my rear deck and spare tire well and various other things through the "minimum" bass so to say.

can anyone else vouch for me that this is happening to them?

Get an appointment with an Audiologist as soon a possible. Get a hearing screening to find out if you've suffering from a hearing loss. From there you can find out if your loss is a temporary loss (fluid buildup around the inner ear and ear drum) or a permanent loss (may have to get hearing aids to assist in hearing). As for ear wax removal, get the drops from the drug store. Do it about twice a day for about a week, that should remove it. However your safer if you go to an Audiologist and have them look in your ear with an otoscope. Better if they have a video otoscope so you can see the stuff up in your ears as well.

Key word in this.....If your having issues with loss of hearing see and Audiologist and not a hearing aid dispenser.

  3. Well hell I have a super Walmart down the street from me. I'll stop there first then after I get off work in the morning. I was in the phone book yesterday looking for boat repair shops and what not. This was after I looked on Home Depot's site and couldn't find anything. But I'll check out all the places you guys recommened tomorrow. Again thanks for the help.

  4. I got some of the materials for my Buddy at Home Depot, but you can also at Auto Parts Stores

Really, homedepot? I was on their website for like 30 minute yesterday looking for resin and fiber glass matting. The only stuff that was coming up was fiberglass insulation for homes. I'll check out O'Reilys, Ace Hardware, and Homedepot today when I get off work. The cheap clamps I brought from Harbor Freights broke on me last night so all of my sides that I was trying to get a good bond with didn't because of the clamps or lack of clamps. Thanks for the help guys.

  5. in my eyes a box like this has some dead spots, i would do the port accross the box shorter but longer from side to side. thats just me

Doing a port totally across the box gave a port area of like 300 sqIn. Isn't something like that way to fucking big for a pair of 18's? Also that still wouldn't help to well with my tuning since I would still need around 18inches in dept to get the desired tuning freqency that I want.

  6. so i wanted to build a box for my 2 Re Hc 18s in my 2002 nissan xterra. got the measurements for my back cargo, but i was pretty lost when i was using torres' calculator. can someone give me a hand? what i want is have the subs up, and port facing the back. the thickness of the mdf is gonna be .75(or if someone has a better recommendation, let me know)here is the pic of the cargo with the measurements taken:

since im using a a RE HC(which i cant find the specs of it) i have it next to a hifonics bxi 2010d that im gonna use before switching to another amp with more rms

I can help you when I get home from work. If you could get the T/S on those subs and the displacement I can go through it with you.

  7. Well the current or old box was a dual chamber box so the port area for each sub was right around 80sqin to 88sqin per chamber. So I need to be right around the 176sqin area then? Cause that what I see if I combine the port area of the two ports I had on the old box.

  8. I've been playing around with Torres box calc software and I came up with a new box design for my 18's. Let me know what you think, if its worth building or not.

So I have a new question regarding this box. I've started building the box last week. taking my time, making sure that everything goes together right this time. It feels good not having to rush through a box build when you don't have to. Anyway, when I was getting the port together for the box I noticed my 45 that I have at the bottom of the box was affecting the amount of distance my port end had against the back wall of the box. To explain it better, my port is 6 1/2 x 28 x 18, when I measure the distance from back wall of the box to the back of the port I get two numbers. Distance if measuring the top of the port is roughly 7 1/2 inches between end of port and back wall, however if I measure the bottom of the port end, my distance in only 4 3/4 inches. My question is how much will this affect my tuning? Should I sand the 45 down a bit?

    The 45 cut was 4 x 47 1/2 x 3/4 if anyone wanted to know its measurements.

The front and the port are not glued in yet. Just fitment to see if I may have to cut the port or sand down the 45.

  9. thanks!! ya its smaller then i am used to having an F150 and a Tahoe but its smaller in a sporty type of way. It handles really good and is so smooth and quiet.

Now, i can work on my tahoe and not have to worry about how im gettin to work in the morning if i dont finish the job that same day. I meant to go shopping for an under-bucket and found myself at the lexus dealer LOL

Correct me if I'm wrong, but why couldn't you just have drove the Honda? Is it still not street legal? Other than that, nice ride. I can't wait to have the burban paid off (2014 can't come no sooner) and get my own personal getaway sled.... :yahoo:

  10. of course the hidden forum will be a benefit......i will eventually release albums from new artists there FIRST, i will have offers in there from manufacturers that will be announced there first as well as other future uses of that area. Thats not the goal of the membership though. The ultimate goal is to cut out the google ads for those that think its too much......and everything else you get after that is a bonus.

you dont have to sign up for anything, this site is still 100% free for you guys. You just now have the option, for more options if you choose thats all. Keep in mind, the site is free for YOU guys, but its very expensive for me......so one way or another whether its google ads or a small membership fee, i still gotta pay for the place :)

thanks to those who have signed up so far! Also, please contact me if you are a former "supporting member" from the early days, i am going to give you a current membership as a thank you for being there when i needed you most!

    Thank you for the clarification.

  11. what does one have to do with the other? why would you not be able to see group buys? i dont get what your asking.

You state that when you get the bronze, silver, or gold membership that those members will have access to a hidden forum. My question is will having access to this hidden forum have any benifit that us standard (free) members will not have, such as special promotional deals and/or group buys that will only be available to those members that have access to this hidden forum?

I also would have just PM you this question, but you know you've disabled you PM box.

  12. I'm gonna bump this cause I too am looking for a decent air compressor. Off the bat, I don't have $400 to spend on one so I'm okay with going down to a smaller gallon capacity unit. What is the difference between an oil lubricant unit and an oil-less one? I just want one that will allow for an nailer, inflate tires, and maybe an air wrench set. Not looking to paint my house or cars with the thing.

So what about these for a beginner with air tools

    Kobalt 5.5 Gallon

    Porter Cable 6 Gallon

I'm also looking up AC's on craigslist too, so if I do happen to run across a great 30 or 60 gallon used compress for under $250 I'll probably pick that up instead of these smaller units.
