Yeah since I'm getting them brand new, I think I'll hold off for now on getting them painted. But I do like the idea of the center cap and the inner spokes painted. It just that this will be my very very very first set of rims that I've ever brought. So I just really want to ride on them this summer as is and then maybe explore painting them next spring.
@ Purdy, if your talking about that hornestnet guy in then yeah I'm glad i didn't go that route. Loosing a few hundred would have hurt, but loosing a few grand would have been devastating.

Thanks for the comps on the wheels. And 98HOEONSIXEZ, if you lived in St. Louis we could have talked but I'm good. Wheel shop got me a great deal for everything I need. And the wheels are new too. so its all that I asked for. Wheels won't be in till April, I won't finish paying them off till June, so I'm good. Gives me time to fully pay them off and have them ready and on the truck right at the begining of summer.

I got some DIP Libra D15 rims with Lexani LX-4000 series tires. I got the rims, tires, TPMS and installation for around $4K. Should have them on the truck by June. What do you guys thinks? Oh yeah I got the 26x9.5 rims.

well if your gonna paint them why spend the money on new? i wouldnt atleast, if you buy some decent used ones and get them painted they are gonna look almost new and you save some $$$. shipping will be an arm and a leg too, id buy used or buy from a shop somewhere close to your area. At discount tire this guy bought some for his tahoe 24s for around 2600 not too bad for new....
I totally agree with you. That is why I've been looking on craigslist too. I'm trying to find decent used wheels if I can to do the color matching thing. If I can't find any used wheels and have to go new, then I'm not going to paint them. Can't see me buying brand new $4 to $7k rims and tires, just to turn around and paint them. So far the cheapest set of 26's I've been able to find off of St.Louis' cragslist are a set for $3k here.

So in a few weeks I'll be getting my taxes back as well as a fat ass bonus check from my job. I really want to buy some wheels for my burban since those factory 17s aren't cutting it any more. I've been looking at wheels from sites such as wheelsnext.com, superbuytires.com and from ebay. Anyone here brought rims and tires from online retailers or ebay before? If so how was the experience? Would you do it again? And was it worth the savings vs going to a local rim & tire shop?
I'm looking to do either 6's or 4's for the burb. I've also been checking out craigslist to spot a deal on some nice wheels. Not really set on chrome either, would love to get some used painted wheels that I can have repaint to color match my trucks birch silver paint.

The Win 7 RC is now doing its 2 hour shutoff on me so I'm DL Ubuntu 9.10 as we speak. Ready to try this out wanted to know about the iTunes stuff myself since I'm about to make the switch. I currently have a Ubuntu 9.10 server setup as well that I will be using as my home's file/print server. Can't truly give up MS though, I'll eventually buy a copy of Win 7 cause its really good but I really want to get into the Linux stuff. From Fedora Core to Ubuntu.

Me... I've been getting on with Google Chrome (Which sucks BTW), and its been OK.
The site is still very slow compared to what it used to be, hoping this will get faster over time...
I actually like Chrome and use it a lot when I'm at home, but at work I'm kind of restricted to using IE. I use both IE and chrome a lot and don't like the fact that in order to even enjoy this site now I have to use chrome or else suffer from a non-responsive IE browser. Don't know about you but I like having choices and right now the updated site is restricting me

Will there be a patch to deal with the forums stability issues with IE? I have to use IE7 at work and I can no longer view th forum at work or at home when I use IE. The minute I log onto the forum using IE the browser become unresponsive. Is there anyone else in here besides me thats experiencing the same issues with IE and the updated forum?

Personally I think you should keep it the same color it is right now. Just throw a couple coats of clear on it, color match the front bumper or go with that SS bumper, and then color match the rim spokes and your set. Beside everyone knows that Meade rolls that Silver/Gray Tahoe. Just wouldn't look right in any other color.

^^expo explained it better than I did (I gotta call you expo even tho its not your name anymore haha)....I imagine DC gets business from this site and I couldnt see any reason as to why they wouldnt let us know about its release date (had there been one)...it seemed as though you were trying to make your question "official" as if it hasnt been asked 100 times before, and the fact that you made it official would change that. Also, Im pretty sure Ive seen thor answer this question more than a few times now, along with other DC reps. I didnt mean your overstepping from wanting a question answered, but for you to imply that someone is "absent" as if they are supposed to be here, seemed a little abrupt to me.

Nowhere in my post did I implied that DC did anything wrong. The only thing you saw in my post were questions on an official release date for the newer model subs, maybe a second company rep for when rusty isn't in here that can clear up ALOT false information that spreads in here, and info regarding the flat carbon cones. Now if you got DC bashing from that then what the fuck are you smoking on, cause that shit's got you seeing shit that not even there.

to the OP, honestly man, I think its a little overstepping your boundaries to be asking things like this specifically. yes there have been other inquiries, but IMO, we are all a little spoiled being on this forum. there are companies out there that wouldn't even respond to threads/emails about release dates, and would most likely tell you that they'll be released when they release them. Im positive that we will see a billion threads about them being released as soon as they are, just like we have seen a billion threads about inquiries for them.
yeah I don't see how I'm overstepping my "boundaries" by asking for some official information about a product from the company's owner? If its a question that I want answered then I'm going to ask it, and I'd rather hear it straight from the source, than from somewhere else. You call it overstepping, I call it a consumer looking for straight up answers.

I know i am just a nobody so i will leave these answers for a designated rep to answer.
I have some questions for DC i would like answered too but i will just ask Rusty directly tomorrow.
Dude if he came in here tomorrow and said from here on out A-Team is my DC rep for the SMD board when I'm not around that would work. Just as long as someone can be listed as the official go to guy when rusty isn't around when it comes to matters like new products. I can understand not wanting to put a release date on subs being tested. But when you have others in here throwing up threads about how they got a lvl6 this or a lvl6 motor that, people begin to wonder whats really going on. And I'm not trying to knock any of those guys that were privileged enough to receive soft parts for testing. To me I just don't see them as true lvl6 production subwoofers. I want to wait but I can't really wait forever though.
I'm just voicing my concerns and giving some ideas that might help with all the lvl6 questions. As for those flat cones, it would be ashame if we (us everyday DC bangers) could get the option to get those. I think they look real good too. Oh well one could hope.

1.) Can we get an official release date for those level 6 subs already? I mean I'll take an official season for when they could be release. Like Summer of 2010 or something. No info nor date is killing me and I'm sure a lot of other DC Sound Lab followers alike? Too much unofficial info is flowing here and not enough of the solid up and up info.
2.) Whats the deal with those carbon flat cones that A Team was testing? Can we get those as an option now for current production subs? Could I buy this as a replacement recone kit? Are they still in a testing phase?
3.) Rusty I know your busy and rightully so, but could we get like an official secondary DC rep to come in here to give official information in your absences? Again too much hearsay in here an not enough factual information.
That's all I have. Not trying to be harsh are anything, but on the real I need some things answered and would like it from a more official source. I'm just a consumer wanting to learn more on a few products that I'm real interesting in buying sooner rather than later.

You need serious power to make a lvl 6 happy, I would go with 5's or get alot of power for the 6's. when you have the power you will pry be able to get the lvl 6's
and so you know. LVL 6 is a music beater. No spl put in this sub. LVL 5 is gonna be louder on the meter then the lvl 6

Yeah I kind of knew that already. What I need to know is a release date and some T/S specs. Unlike most of you here I could really give two shits about numbers (termlab) cause I don't compete. Want I want is subs that sound unbelievably good at moderate to high volume. The thing that I notice with my lvl 4s (well the one without the coil issue) is that they sound outstanding from low all the way up to near max volume. And the sound is smooth thoughout. That what I want to maintain when I upgrade.

LOL cause I like my levels even....you know Lvl 2's, Lvl 4's, and Lvl 6's.....
But seriously I'm debating if I want to continue with DC or try something else. Don't get me wrong I love my Lvl 4s even though I'm still rocking the one with the horrible coil rub. But I'm kinda curious to try another local made brand. I'm somewhat leaning towards some Fi BTL's but I might consider Lvl 5. Just don't want to drop the cash for 5's and 6's come out a few weeks later.

I'm ready to upgrade however I don't want to wait forever. I'm looking to replace my subs by mid-late April. Any of you Team DC guys or for that matter the Man himself know when these subs are going to hit the market? I'm afraid that come April I might have to go with another brand and I don't want to if I don't have to.

Well for those that remember me, mom was giving me the choice of a newer Mercedes or an Older Escalade as another car since I sold mine, well the caddy was just too old for me and I drove the Mercedes for awhile but never liked it. I Finally sold my car and started looking around and bought this pretty nice H3. I enjoy it alot, feels and drives great. Never liked them until I test drove one. I love the factory options it came with too. (Tv's, brush guard, locking gas cap door, tinted windows, Monsoon sound system)
Well I had a spair amp and box in the basement so I got the dust off of them and got 2 W0's from Custom Enclosures Friday night and went to bass wars the next day to see what its SPL rating was.
So I got 2 12 JLW0V2 subs and a 400 watt 4 channel amp (both bridged running a 2 ohm load I believe) and got a 141 Outlaw... I think this is pretty acceptable for stock HU and what is in it...

Yeah I put a $1K down on them with the cc now and will pay off that balance as soon as I get paid. My interest rates are too high for $1K let alone $4K, so I'll just pay off the rest of the balance on the wheels with cash till I'm ready to get them out. Figured June would be a great time, should be done with some of the audio upgrades by then too.
