ok so ive been dating my GF now for about 3 1/2 years and things have been going great. she is a cool girl and at times i want to just $*$*$*. We have talked about marriage and decided not to get married until i finish my doctorate school. i will graduate when im 26. im 22 right now. well she has been kinda pushing the issue of us being engaged saying things like you think we will be closer by your birthday in October or by December this year? i on the other hand have no thought of asking yet bc i feel im not ready. and if i did ask right now it would be bc she wanted me to not bc i wanted to. so, i want to wait at least another year or 2 before i ask but seems she is already going crazy about it right now. ive told her i will ask when i felt i was ready. i just dont know if she understands and why she is trying to push the issue. i dont see what being engaged right now would be any diff from 2 years from now, either way we wont get married until i graduate from school. lord glad i got that out. so let me know your opinion

i was wanting to get stanton 60 tables so that is regular record scratching there. if i was to play in a club i would go with the computer stuff. i know there is a program where u can use record turn tables but use a laptop. im a noob with it so i dont know

cool. my setup im doing right now is around $1,000 for turntables, mixer, amp, speakers, headphones. and when i start to hit up the clubs ill get into the laptop part of it. i have a comp already but right now im focused on learning it first

thats cool man, family first. im wanting to learn it and have fun with it as a hobby and if i get good do some stuff for clubs on weekends and junk. we got plenty of clubs here so shouldnt be hard to find one, i just have to prove myself.

well, ive thought about ti for a while and im selling everything out of my truck and going to be a DJ. i dont want to have the audio in truck and the DJ audio bc its just to much in money. so i guess im out of the car audio scene for a lil while until i put me an 8'' setup in the truck for just some temporary bass. lol anyway, just thought i share that i was gone be a DJ now, anyone else on here that does DJ stuff????

i got the subs wired to 1ohm right now. i didnt know if i can go lower than that or what. my voltage drop is pretty crappy being it starts at 13.8 and gets to like 11.8 or 11.2 on some notes. so im losing allot of power with those kinds of drops. anyone think i should wire them at a lower ohm than i have right now? or is that a no no? thanks and sorry for my confusing in the earlier post, ill try not to make that a habit

to get voltage i used the leads on the + - wire. to get amps i clamped the + wire. just did it at two diff times with same 40hz burp

ok cool. and yes that makes since with the meters. i guess if u are really needing to cut it close, thats a good way to go. but im just a street beater and hit up comps when i can so its all good. ill be doing some more readings this week just to double check myself. thanks for all the input from everyone. mike audioque 10'' HDC3 owner

lol let me jump in here guys and give my opinion on something. why should i use two different meters to measure the results when i have the volume the same, bass knob the same, RPM on truck the same, and playing the same 40hz tone. what is gone be different from clamping the + wire, then going and meauring the +- wires together. so, i know i read the 1/0 that was stupid, but with the other reading i think they are right and i think its kinda pointless to use two different meters at the same time. what is going to change between me doing the two readings? just my opionion, dont take it wrong but if anyone kinda think of a good reason to use two meters let me know. otherwise im doing just one

na i used a clamp meter that reads AC, Volts and amps. so i just did a reading for both just to do it. my curiosity i guess.

well i decided its time to actually get some reading from the amp and see what is going on with power and what im really throwing at the AQ subs. so this is what i got, and just want anyone who has done this to let me know if i did it right or wrong. thats the only way to learn this stuff, ok here we go my idle voltage is 13.7 after a 40hz burp, voltage is 11.9 (at max output) put clamp meter on sub wires, 60.7volt output the amp draw from 1/0 wire was 7.3 amps at 40hz 13.1 amp draw threw sub wire

i got a fluke meter at the house with clamp on it, im about to go try this shiz out and see what im really pushing to it. i think my dad took it with him though, so ill have some numbers up soon thanks for the info 2003f150

its just for now until i get some sound deadner for the truck. good idea though im pushing around half of what i can right now. so like 1,500rms pretty much. electrical is holding me back allot

yep, i dont waste my breath around town bc pep will say 146? i can hit 150db with my 12'' (using a walmart meter) so i just :lol: and go on with my day. and i just cut my ports and got it at 37hz, made allot of diff with the higher bass and lost some on low but not allot. running the amp at about 1,200rms now or 34volts output until i get new electrical and junk. im still trying to do the math to really get an understanding of what im really running to the subs, bc i know ohms, volts, and junk make a diff. but i do know im running 34v out of amp.... ow, lol i did my truck at 90v output on amp at comp (didnt hear that from me) :01nocomment8so:

ive been going for 3 years now and about to make if four. just start going man and take ur basic classes that will go into pretty much any field that way it give u time to figure out what u need to do. like ur basic math, english, freshman classes, bly classes and so on. but do what u think u want to do. u will figure it out sooner or later
